It's obvious Stanford will score their points, Notre Dame doesn't have an answer for a balanced offensive approach (they shut down Michigan State's run-first approach, but flopped when Michigan State spread the field even in the slightest out of their sets).

Can Notre Dame score enough points to stay in the game and force some turnovers? That's the only question. Play mistake-free football (Michael Floyd I'm talking to you :D ) with no dropped passes or fumbles and don't blow defensive assignments. The offense has improved each game, Rudolph will continue to be dominant and cause mismatches, Riddick has awoken, he has all the potential in the world, Floyd will always demand a double. TJ Jones was nonexistant last week because Michigan State didn't respect Floyd and roll coverage as much as expected, but I think Stanford will.

I'd say this is a 45-35 Stanford victory. But that's why they play the game, we're finally starting to see some wrinkles in the offense, and I'm excited to see the next step.

I'm gonna skip the ND jersey walking around OSU after this game though. Thought I could get away with it for MSU. Wrong lol.

I lost count of the number of people who yelled 'fuck notre dame' at me after I walked by. I actually talked to the one or two brave enough to say it as they were approaching me lol. It was refreshing after the 1,000th time.

But that's only <1% of the stadium so it's all good. 99% of Ohio State fans are fine.

Stanford will be ND's toughest opponent yet, but on the flip side the Tree've hardly been tested in their three games thus far versus rather pedestrian-mediocre opposition (Sacramento St, UCLA, Wake Forest). Stanford's well coached, and like Sparty, very physical. It'll be interesting to see how the Irish respond/hold up to getting hit in the mouth for a 2nd week in a row, particularly on defense where they have some depth issues. I'm not willing to chalk this up as a sure loss just yet, but I don't have great confidence that ND can prevail. I'm encouraged by the fact the offense has moved the ball well and put up points in each game thus far, hopefully they continue to do so this week. I would like Kelly to try and slow things up a bit more either through the running game, and/or slowing the pace of the hurry up offense a bit at times, allowing the defense a bit more of a breather. The offense also needs to limit the turnovers. I've been surprised and disappointed by Floyd's sudden fumble-itis, as well as a mild case of dropsies. Hopefully Riddick continues to grow at the slot after his career performance v MSU. He and Jones can benefit greatly from the attention Floyd and Rudolph warrant.

The theme in this game is the same as every other solid team the Irish have/will face this season: ND's defense must deliver enough stops to keep the game within reach, while the offense will have to put up a good deal of points. If the D can finally force some turnovers and the Irish O finally eliminate theirs ND will have a very realistic shot at pulling off the upset.

I'll be cheering for Notre Dame...

And, we can throw the "well, our team has to worry about academics" excuse out the window for this one, as Stanford is quite the academic institution as well. :D

I don't really hear it from the Notre Dame fans on this board, you guys are legit, but i've got a friend who went to ND who uses it non-stop, after every game. Doesn't really work for this game. :D

Definitely agree about somehow finding a way to control the ball a little more. The offensive drives are either 3 and out or they score in 2 minutes. Not good when the starting safeties are playing every snap. They can still go no huddle but they also don't have to snap the ball until later in the game clock.

I know, just picked a bad place to voice my annoyance with my friend, haha.

I'll be cheering for the Irish, an early "make or break" game for them, IMO.

Nope, one syllable short in the middle.
If you count each letter in TSUN as a syllable, you're way too long there . If it counts as one big one-syllabled clusterfuck that line is correct :p

My tickets for the game just arrived this afternnon. We have 6 seats together in section 25. I'm not sure what row they are in but I think my gf said row 50 or something like that. They look like pretty solid seats. I'm looking forward to this one.

Kind of a long story but I'll keep it short.

My sister-in-law went to Stanford for her medical residency. She now works in NE,Ohio. Anyways, one of her co workers has a sister that went to ND. They started talking and my sister-in-law mentioned that I was looking for some tickets, her co worker called her sister and she hooked us up.

I'm not a ND fan but I'm really looking forward to it. I go to OSU but I dont hate on the Irish like alot of my fellow Buckeyes. There are some stadiums that every college football fan should visit imo, ND is def one of them.

Jamoris Slaughter is listed number 1 on the depth chart at safety. Would be HUGH (MB) if the safeties don't have to play every snap. Hopefully McCarthy is able to go on Saturday as well.
