I think the Big10/Pac 10 are tied for 2nd behind the SEC with the Big 12 in 4th. Texas hasnt looked good all year and Oklahoma plays terrible against bad teams.Nebraska is good and the rest of the teams blow. Hell, the Pac 10 could even be the deepest conference as of now.

The Pac10 also had a pretty good showing against the Big 10 last weekend. Still lots of football to be played, and I'm sure this will all come up again come bowl time.

A bad UCLA team beat Texas, @ Texas. Okl barely survives against UC. And Neb wasn't impressive against South Dakota St. Big 12 deep and stronger? Thats up for debate, easily. The Pac10 had a pretty good showing last week vs Big Ten? They won one game in which they were favored to win. Can you spin your anti Big Ten crap anymore then that? lol

I'd still say the Pac-10 is just above the Big Ten
Oregon
Stanford
Arizona
Arizona St.
Oregon St.

are better to me collectively than:
OSU
Iowa
Wisconsin
Michigan St.
Michigan

Plus, the back end of the conference is better in my view, Cal, Washington, USC, UCLA, Washington St.
is better than:
Penn St, Northwestern, Indiana, Minnesota, Purdue, and Illinois.

I mean Illinois, Minnesota and Purdue are awful and Penn St is very suspect right now.

I would agree as of right now. The PAC-10 may be from top to bottom better than the SEC right now. Besides Wash St the PAC-10 does not have any pathetic teams.

The SEC is top heavy while the PAC-10 looks to be deep. I guess it does depend on how much value you put on having the very best teams vs. depth.

Don't disagree completely. But not totally sold on ASU or Oregon State being that good to be honest. Wash St and Wash are pretty bad. I think its pretty lose. I'd give the edge to the PAC10 currently. But its still fairly early. Last week we heard how great the Big12 is. This week they look like shit. Things change week to week as we see.

Yeah. I honestly never bought the Big 12 is good argument. Last week, I had the Pac-10 just ahead of the Big 10. It is early, but so far, the Pac-10 has the better OOC wins, and top to bottom is a better conference to me than the Big 10, with the SEC still clearly the best.

Things definitely do change from week to week. The Pac-10 is looking for real this year. I have them #2.

Currently, the polls disagree with you:

2. Ohio State (2) 4-0 1,412 2
9. Wisconsin 4-0 989 10
18. Iowa 3-1 509 18
19. Michigan 4-0 375 22
20. Penn State 3-1 347 20
21. Michigan State 4-0 278 23

4. Oregon 4-0 1,243 6
13. Stanford 4-0 744 17
14. Arizona 4-0 689 16

Well, yeah that will happen when Oregon St. and Arizona St. lose to Boise and Oregon respectively.
I'd still take Arizona St. and Oregon St. over Penn St. and Michigan based on body of work and the different opponents each face.

Using the polls to help the Big Ten's argument is a joke. Mich state, Michigan, and PSU all won't be ranked at the end of the year. They haven't beaten anyone. Also USC is in there.

The problem with the Pac 10 is that they don't know how to play defense so all of their numbers are inflated (i.e. just like the Big 12 the past few years).

Check what Oklahoma and Texas did in their respective National Championship losses and what the Pac 10 teams did in bowls last year (bowl offensive output vs. conference offensive output).

Honestly, the Big 10 always seems to get lots of love in the polls. Not necessarily at the top, but they like to stuff teams in there because of their name.

Penn State got nailed pretty hard by Bama and have looked less than impressive against MAC teams. Iowa lost to Arizona, which I'm still not sold on at all, and Iowa has beaten nobody. They're ranked. Michigan and Michigan State have beaten ND, and Notre Dame will end up being terrible this year. Other than that, they've beaten nobody. Wisconsin is in there by default I guess. They were already ranked pretty high and are undefeated. Even though they won on a blocked extra point (at home) to ASU who will probably lose 5-6 games this year.

Meanwhile teams that have done just as much, or more, from the Big 12 are not ranked. Kansas State 4-0. Missouri 4-0. Texas A&M 3-0. Oklahoma State 3-0.

Who has Missouri beat? What about Tex A&M? Oklahoma St?

Really, nobody, nobody, and nobody.

My point is all of these teams and most of the lower ranked big 10 teams have accomplished the same. Beating nobody. Yet there are 4 teams from the B10 that are ranked in the lower rung of the top 25 and zero teams from the B12 who are undefeated and have done nothing as well.

I'm just saying the teams from the B10 have 'the name' while KSU, Missouri, A&M, OkSt do not.

After the Big12 performance last week, anyone who has them any higher then 4th...is high themselves. No way do they deserve a ranking higher then that.
1. SEC
2. Pac10
3. Big 10
4. Big 12
