Could be a banner week for the Non-AQ teams. Looking at the schedule, I see a number of potential losses from the guys from the "real" conferences:

Southern Miss v. Kansas
TCU v. Baylor
Cal @ Nevada (The Wolfpack average 50 pts a game so far)
SMU vs. Washinton State (WSU blows and should be kicked out of the P10)
Houston v. UCLA (Case Keenum is questionable with a concussion, but if he plays lookout)
N. Illinois v. Illinois (tick tock Ron Zook)
Northwestern @ Rice (Rice played Texas tough for a while)
Hawaii v. Colorado
Florida State v. BYU (Which FSU squad is the real deal, the one in Week 1 or the one who got destroyed by Oklahoma?)

Northwestern should not have any problems with Rice. And other than the Illinois v. No. Illinois /Cal v. Nevada games, I actually expect all of those non-AQ teams to win

We'll see. Another matchup this week will be Virginia Tech v. East Carolina. Could the Hokies start out 0-3 without even playing a team from the Big Six Conferences? The Pirates are tough. I think Tech could possibly roll but you never know.

You forgot to mention that Kent State is going to beat Penn State (tongue in cheek).

Any game with an ACC team taking on a non BCS team should be looked at as a potential win for Non-AQ teams.

Penn State won't lose that one. They're back inside of their comfort zone. Like I said last week, there is a reason Penn State avoids playing marquee out of conference games.

I think Air Force-Oklahoma will be a good game too. I wouldn't be surprised if Air Force takes it actually. They look pretty good, coming off of a pounding of BYU. Also, Oklahoma has kind of a made a habit of falling on their faces in these kind of games.

Yep I heard the same thing that BYU was going to destroy FSU in Provo last year. Last week was just a terrible game for FSU and I look for them to bounce back at home and beat BYU by 21+.

I agree with trep though that Air Force-Oklahoma game is gonna be a good its the game Im most excited for besides the FSU one.

I don't think there's any questions that the top 25% of the non-AQ teams are simply better that the bottom 25% of the team in conferences with the automatic bids - and it's not an upset when they win.

I would even venture to say that the top five 1-AA teams could and should beat the bottom ten percent of the 1-A teams. As the parent of a Western Kentucky student, it's painful to admit - but true. :)

I tend to agree. But Rice played Texas tough, and has some serious offensive talent (McGuffie transferred from UM, Fanuzzi transferred from Alabama), so they could make it interesting.
