Daniel Hudson absolutely owned the Reds the last time he faced them too.

I'm still debating whether or not to go to the game. I have no reason not to other than laziness.

Laziness is a powerful thing.

If that lineup stays healthy that is a great lineup for post season play. The Reds have really struggled against good pitching. Let's hope they can keep the offensive fire power going tonight.

Need another strong game from Wood, something like 7 innings 95 pitches.

Ump not giving Wood all he deserves on the low outside corner. He didn't call several that nipped the zone, most notably and most solidly a strike on the 1-0 pitch to the lead-off hitter.

hernandez is not near as good receiving/framing a pitch on the corner as hanigan is.

I'm not complaining (there's a shocker) but is Phillips OK? He is like 7 for his last 50. Do you consider moving him down in the lineup and moving Stubbs back up? Stubbs has shown of late that he is more comfortable up in the lineup. Would it be more harm to him psychologically to move him down?

As long as they are scoring as they need be I have no problem....but if they have trouble and he keeps struggling....I wouldn't be against it.

And I'm not saying go crazy or anything...but Valaika IMO earned a few more AB with how he produced when he got his initial chance

Let's just clinch this thing and rest our stars and needed players

In the 2nd the ump gave Wood a couple borderline calls on the low outside corner for Ks!

I agree. I'd like to see Valaika play 2B at least once or twice a week. If it is his hand causing the problems for Phillips, then I'd think he'd understand going down in the order and not playing as much would be best for him and the team.

On clinching the thing, I'm not a fan of resting people them. I want the Reds to have the best record in the NL and Philly to win the east. In fact instead of playing not to lose the NL central, I think they should be playing with the mind-set of best record in the NL. They would be in that position now with a 3-4 trip instead of the 1-6 they had.

I don';t mean sit them more than they play them....but say the Reds are up 8 with 7 to play and are 3 or 4 back of best record....I would like to see maybe the main players in there for the first 2 of those games to see if they are going to have much of any shot at the best record....likely not and then give Rolen and Phillips the next 3 games off and maybe let them play the last 2 home games of the season.....if they do well the next to last game batting then let them choose for the final game.....and no one with the exception of Votto only for possible MVP numbers or league title...but if Votto is ok with sitting a couple....I'm sitting him 2 of those final 5 games........no plays all of the last 5 games..no way and Rhodes rarely pitches from here on out unless really needed.

I'm also putting Chapman in as closer 5+ times here on out to see how he does (how much doubt is there that he's not significantly better than Cordero).....I KNOW THIS WILL NEVER HAPPEN as his baserunning is still iffy

I give Masset and Ondrusek all the rest they need as they will be pivotal in the playoffs

Wood should have had strike 3 w/ 2 on .... now it's bases loaded w/ 1 out and down 1-0

Darn that 0-2 pitch to Reynolds. I was calling for a fastball up and 4-6" high out of the zone, but he got it in the zone and a few inches shy of the top!

I heard from my brother in law Edmonds was taking BP and fly balls tonight. I don't have much faith in him but Gomes needs some rest.
