Wooster comes in with wins over Galion, Wadsworth, and Ellet. Those three opponents have a combined record of 2-7. Ashland has wins over Willard and Dover, and a close loss to Marion-Franklin. The Arrows put a thorough 42-0 pounding on the Generals last year.
This will be the game that will either A) show that Wooster is a team to be reckoned with this year, or B) beat up on some down non-conference opponents. The Generals will have to find a way to slow down Ashland's passing attack, and have yet to see an offense as explosive as the one the Arrows will bring to Wayne County. Wooster will have to be able to mix the run and pass successfully to have a shot at this one.
Early prediction: Ashland 35 Wooster 14
