Correction, bottom of the 8th! But I guess what I asked for came to pass, for the PIRATES! They come back late to tie on Friday, but couldn't win. They came back to take a one run lead Sat., but couldn't win. They came back today to take a 2 run lead. Can they hold on win it?

I thought so too at the time, but now maybe he should have tried for the DP and the win! If they missed the DP they'd still be down by the same 3-1 score!

I actually thought it was a pretty good AB by Heisey after he got down 1-2. That was a great pitch by Hanrahan, 97 mph on the low outside over the plate. He thought it was a slider and it wasn't. Being a hero to get the Reds back in it one day out of two is pretty good!

Just saw this crazy stat ......

That was the first road win for the Pirates, beyond Wrigley/Coors since May 26...had been 0 for last 37 road games outside of those two parks.

with 19 games left and either a 6 or still 7 game lead depending on what STL does tonight in Atlanta ....... CoCo in a saving situation in the playoffs kinda scares me lol

Cueto would be 18-5 without the 6 blown saves on his prospective wins!

If Coco can't get strikes on the inside, I'm afraid the hitters will continue to do this to him! Throwing 95 with a good slider and they are getting him with all the pitches on the outside, albeit the one that beat him today was a slider up and catching a good part of the outside of the plate. But he's got to come in way more than he does, and he has to get a few strikes at least in there. If he throws in and doesn't get strikes they'll just continue to disregard the possibility of getting out on inside pitches like they are now!

Is there zero chance of Chapman closing games in the post season ala KRod? Don't they have to at least try it?

I'd like to say there is a good chance of it, but there is likely no chance. I'm sure they'll keep trotting CoCo out there.

Dusty told John Fay that Coco is the closer. Period. End of discussion. Says that he feels terrible for Cordero, and nobody is taking this loss harder than him. Well, good for you Dusty, but you need to stop worrying about making players feel bad and send a message that blowing saves is unacceptable. Next save opportunity should go to Rhodes or Chapman. Maybe that would bring Coco's focus back.

Screw Dusty as well. Coco broke the spirit of 25,000 fans......as he came in with a 1-0 lead I'm estimating 1500-2000 people got up and left....that number will double the next time he comes in. Walk a .184 hitter and then throw dumbass pitch after dumbass pitch with 2 strikes on each hitter.

From CF I couldn't tell....did Cairo have a shot at McCutchen's double? Would've Rolen? Was he playing the line?

Dustyball was lucky THEY didn't get swept. Did Brandon Phillips break the record for most 1st pitch swings in a 3 game series? Why does any pitching staff throw hittable 1st pitches to the Reds?

Freaking Charlie Morton was 1-11 with a 9.5 ERA and had about 58 pitches after 5 innings....Volquez was dominant...but the Reds made sure Morton was just as good. Thank God for Votto Saturday.

Stubbs hitting ball hard and Dusty make him bunt....that worked great.

......and just to brag a touch my 1st grade son ran to 1st base in the kid's zone in 5.01 seconds
