PANDORA — Trevor Schroeder and Derek Mangas had big nights offensively and the Leipsic defense dominated from the start as the Vikings upended Putnam County rival Pandora-Gilboa 37-0 Friday night in a Blanchard Valley Conference game.
Schroeder rushed for 160 yards and a touchdown and Mangas accumulated 102 yards combined between rushing and receiving and scored twice for the Vikings.
The Leipsic (2-1, 1-1 BVC) defense held Pandora-Gilboa to just 79 total yards and five first downs and also picked off two passes.
The Vikings denied Pandora-Gilboa (1-2, 1-1) quarterback Josh Breece much running room. Breece, who came into the game second in BVC rushing, managed only 3 yards on 22 carries.
Mangas opened the scoring with a 65-yard scamper and later caught a 26-yard pass from Liam Nadler.
Nadler, who was 7 of 18 passing for 107 yards, then found Ty Maag for a 30-yard TD strike in the second quarter and Dylan Niese for a 13-yard connection in the third.
Schroeder sprinted 53 yards for a score in the second quarter and Devon Mangas capped the Vikings’ scoring with a 31-yard field goal in the fourth.
Breece was 8 of 19 passing for 76 yards. Troy Stevenson had four catches for 60 yards.
