Stubbs (somewhat surprising to me) sees more pitches per at bat than any Reds player with over 205 plate appearances. Some of that is for his swings and misses....but he makes the pitchers work.....he gets to striking out under 100 times and improves on the CF tough plays and he could be quite th player down the road....hopefully soon.

This is nice having two pitchers doing the game on TV and no lousy play by play man. They noted that Harang is back to his "good" slider that is tighter and breaks down. I think that is the one that hurts his elbow. I predicted before the season started that Harang would have Tommy John surgery. His back problem set him back on that. Now with his "back against the wall" on having a spot on the post season roster and having a decent contract for next year, he's risking his elbow for the cause, and may end up on the DL soon.

Important big inning by the Reds on Ubaldo to start this important series. The ABs by Phillips and Heisey were critical to it getting the first two runs in and extending the inning. Janish and Votto both unlucky with book rule doubles on which they didn't get deserved RBIs on, but the Reds lost out on no runs on them with Gomes two additional two out RBI to make it 4-0. Still the inning ends disappointingly with the bases loaded and a run not able to score on a pitch all the way to the backstop.
