I think Harang got what he deserved after walking the pitcher. But that said, the ump is terrible. When Brantley talks about keeping a book on each umpire and how he calls them and how to best pitch when that ump calls behind the plate, and the technology being what it is, it is time to take the ump out of being the most important factor in the game. Rather than umps' idiosyncracies being the major part of the game, call the balls and strikes according to the rules and let the players skills decide the games!

Do you think BP taking 2nd on the Heisey fly took the bat out of Joey's hands? He didn't have to do that. The correct baserunning play may have been to be on 2nd when the ball hit Fowler's glove.

The 2nd pitch to Gomes was outside the way this ump has been calling them, but he decides to call it a strike, paving the way for Gomes to swing at the next one out there, then pop out when he came in and up.

Lead-off triple for the Rockies. I think we have just about seen the last of the Reds being even or ahead in this game!

Wow, I didn't realize that was just a double until I saw him standing on 2nd base on the one out grounder to SS on which I expected him to score when I saw the bat contact the ball. Great, the Reds are still even.

Two of the four balls to Francisco could have rightfully been called strikes to lead off the 5th.

Marty bad-mouthing Stubbs for lack of aggressiveness for going 0-2, but with this ump he did right, he just happened to call them both strikes.

Come on Ironman, arne't you gonna get on here and chastise Janish for failing to get a runner in from 3rd with less than 2 outs???? Be consistent if you're gonna go in bash mode.

Hang that failure to get the run in from 3rd with less than two out on Janish. Stubbs was doing the right thing playing for a big inning by not swinging at anything with less than 2 strikes that might have had a chance to be called a ball by this ump.

Ubaldo's day is probably done with a chance to win his 18th game on his 7th try. He has 122 pitches and threw his 118th pitch at 99 mph.

Reds looking like they'll lose another game in the standings today. This fuckin blows. Winning today against Ubaldo would have been huge. I hate Harang...running him out there is basically running a big white flag out to pitch.

That shot to Janish was ruled a hit and an error. Now if Tulowitzki hits a HR, all runs would be earned.
