With Adam Jones as the primary nickel corner, Morgan Trent as the 4th and drafting the Ghee kid out of Wake Forest, David Jones was expendable and likely to be cut. Turning around and swapping him for a guy who had such potential in Reggie Nelson is a great move. The Bengals did this a few years ago, under the radar of course, acquiring Brian Leonard for Orien Harris. Turned out to be a fantastic move.

The secondary, when healthy, is going to be stacked with talent.

CB Joseph, A. Jones
CB Hall, Trent
FS Crocker, R. Nelson
SS Williams, Ndukwe

He's been a bust thus far but I like the move. Low risk, high reward

Agreed. The one thing to look at is Jacksonville has one of the worst track records of developing their draft picks recently

Bengals also cut backup QB JT O'Sullivan and pick up former Central Michigan standout, Dan LeFevour.

I loved Reggie Nelson's game in college, I wish he can still turn it around in the pros.

Coming in to tell you Bengals fan, he has regressed every year since he was first picked, and loathed in Jacksonville (highly thought of as a bust{have a friend who is a big Jags fan, I asked his opinion}). Perhaps Marvin Lewis can light a fire under him and get him to reach his potential.

That may be true, but the Bengals have had some success with moves like this.

Cedric Benson, Roy Williams, Tank Johnson and Adam Jones were also considered busts. I guess we'll know soon enough if he can play.

Tank Johnson was a 2nd round pick who started on the best defense in the league when they went to the SB. Hardly considered a bust, he was only released bc he was a moron.

Who then got signed by Dallas, despite being suspended by the NFL, and was then later released after doing nothing for the Cowboys. At that point, nobody really wanted Tank Johnson and he could definitely be considered a bust.

Now, the reason he reached bust status wasn't necessarily due to performance at first, but he certainly wasn't signed, released and then available for a while because he was a "moron." I know many around the Bengals weren't really sure he would actually contribute, but he sure did prove some people wrong.
