Marshall has a chance, although it is very slim, but as Lou Holtz always reminds Mark May in these kinds of match ups, Marshall has 85 kids on scholarship same as Ohio State. Bucks win 38-10

Marshall has this game in the bag. 27-21.

A lot of people in Ohio dislike OSU. I went to Xavier and never liked OSU. To put it a nice way, since I coached high school football before, the fan base of OSU is diffrent.

Of course MSU outplayed OSU that day. That was my point. OSU needs to play that bad for Marshall to win.

Because I am NOT an Ohio State fan. My love is with the Penguins and the Fighting Irish.

I just remembered I was at that MSU 98 game. A loss tonight would be waaaay more catastrophic if you ask me. It would totally blind-side everyone right after a summer of hearing about NC predictions.
That being said, same prediction as above. Maybe even 63 for Ohio State with around 25-28 coming from the defense. Its a damn top 5 team in the country facing a C-USA team. Jesus I'm the one saying OSU will kill them? Never thought i'd see the day.

First of all, there's nothing "typical" about Ohio State fans any more so than there is anything "typical" about the Penguin faithful...

We get it it...you coached high school football...congrats.

Thanks for reminding me of those 2 heartbreakers. I almost lost my dinner on the floor

For anyone watching the Big Ten Network, that was a very nice segment on Cameron Heywards dad.

This. I am a huge OSU fan and everyone out here is probably sick of hearing me talk about them, but when I was asked today if I thought they would cover the spread, I said no. I am sure OSU will win, but they often seem to limp in against a non bcs opponent at the beginning of every year.LHSGUY35;469352 wrote:I remember all these OSU fans talking about how Navy won't be a match to Ohio State last year.
Although I don't believe that Tressell was ever actually worried about Navy last year.

that's cool--it's just that the way I read your post I thought it may have had something to do with Tressel/YSU/OSU, and since I have a strong connection to YSU myself, I felt the need to ask--sorry if I offended you
btw, love the MVR--excellent Italian food

I'll never understand the hatred for other in-state schools. I was born and raised in Ohio but I went to college in Illinois. Since I'm an Ohioan, I am a Buckeye fan first, but after that I will support and even root for all the other Ohio schools. I can understand Xavier fans hating Cincinnati or Dayton, since those are their rivals. I've never understood the mentality of "I went to Xavier or YSU, so I hate Ohio State." Sounds like an inferiority complex.

I was born and bred a Buckeye and it doesn't make much sense to me either. I had friends who were rooting against Cinci when they were playing Florida because they didn't want any competition for OSU in being the best team from Ohio. Really? Lol

Although I do know some OSU fans who are pretty obnoxious and if we weren't already cheering for the same team, I might like to see their favorite team lose.

They really didn't, but it was strange to me to watch my friends that hated Florida rooting for them because they wanted to keep Cinici as "the little brother" in Ohio.

I was rooting for Florida because I was so sick of hearing about how awesome Cinci was. Everyone knew they weren't good EXCEPT Cinci.

I even rooted for Michigan when they played Florida. No way I root against an Ohio team when they play them.
