I dont get what the big deal with stealing bases is, it was early in the game, and if you dont want someoen stealing bases...then dont hit him to put him on base, simple as that

I agree. I also don't understand why the Marlins are such babies about their catcher getting ran over, collisions at home have been part of baseball for a long time. It was a close play and Morgan was trying to score, no need to bean him the next day. Then they bean him again for stealing bases, throw him out if you don't want him to steal. I'm guessing baseball will give Morgan a long suspension for this, the Marlins pitcher better be getting one just as long, maybe even longer for that pathetic fighting form he displayed, dropping his fists to leave his face wide open, what a moron...

I heard that the catcher wasn't even protecting home plate and that Morgan went out of his way to hit the catcher.

That was on a different play. The play on Tuesday he actually separated the catcher's shoulder when he ran over him. The play you are referring was last week when he did go out of his way and kinda/sorta ran into the catcher.

I don't think that play was dirty....it was a tie ballgame in extra innings, the catcher is standing over the dish and the ball is getting there the exact same time as Morgan.....you don't wanna get run over? Don't protect the plate like that when you got a speedster rounding third. I also have no problem with them beaning him in the 4th, but what the fuck is with the Marlins getting all butt hurt that he stole 2nd and 3rd? Because he made you look stupid immediately after you tried to punk him? Kudos to Morgan for taking that bean ball like a man and then immediately trying to help his team out.

That being said, props to Gaby Sanchez. I haven't seen a clothesline that hard since WWF wrestler Bradshaw's "Clothesline from Hell".

Props to gaby Sanchez?? That's a bitch move. The pitcher threw at Morgan, let him fight his own battles. Don't blindside him like a punk.

It was a dumb play by Morgan not to slide the other night. Its a 0-0 game, and if he slides he's probably safe and possibly gets his team a win. Instead he decides to run the catcher over, who's standing on the back half of the plate and makes it a pretty easy call for an umpire. He also ran over the guy in St. Louis for no apparent reason.

If I'm the Nationals I send him home. That's twice over the course of a week now he's touched off crazy feelings from other teams, and as his teammates I've got to be going dude not only are you going to get yourself hurt, but you're putting us in danger as well. There's no knowing what could happen w/ hit batsmen in a situation like that.

I loved the Sanchez closeline. I think Nyjer bit off a bit more than he could chew in that one

Agree. I think next time Morgan should charge Sanchez.

I didn't mean props to Gaby Sanchez for delivering the clothesline.....more like props on the EXECUTION of the clothesline. Its hilarious when you watch it in slow-mo when he clotheslines him Morgan's helmet stays where its at while the rest of his body flies to the ground.

I thought it was weak, third man in should be suspended. He was not trying to help, he was trying to escalate.

Yeah, a simple slide would've put his team ahead. Dude seems to be a little nuts.

I do agree that the execution was flawless.

Morgan is a psycho. No need for either collision at all. It makes me wonder if he is trying to start fights by charging the catchers.

And really guys? You think Sanchez should just stand by and let the fight happen like the Nats players wouldnt come in and tackle Volstad? Thats ridiculous. Morgan charged the mound, he knows hes gonna have 5 other guys plus the pitcher on him before the dugouts reach him for back-up. Thats what you risk when you charge the mound.

Best part about the whole thing was the 3rd base coach wreaking havoc in there

The pitcher was too busy dropping his hands to his sides like hed never been in a fight before in his life haha. If you're going to bean the guy 1 time for running over your catcher...cool. If you're gonna throw behind him because you're butthurt that you hit him and he made the best of it by manufacturing a run....then be prepared to fight. Lucky for him his first basemen stepped in and saved his ass

Sanchez did not attempt to break up the fight, he escalated it by blind siding him. Now if Sanchez pulled Morgan off and then went face to face with him, no problem here.

IMHO:
Morgan should get 10 games
Volstad should get 7 games (starting pitchers should get suspended for at least a week to throw off the next start)
Sanchez should get 5 games
Listasch should get 5 games

If anything Volstad bit off more than he could chew and had to rely on his first basemen to save his ass lol

Dont think I ever said he tried to break it up, because I dont think he shouldve. You charge the mound, you run the risk of what happened.

What the announcers were complaining about was that he was stealing bases when his team was down ten runs. They said it was bad etiquette. I don't see what the big deal is with what he did
