How far short of capacity crowds do you think the Reds will come if the more and more likely play-offs come to GABP?

What a fun game to watch. Champman looking awesome. Two spectacular plays to end the game. Reds with a 7 game lead in September. I feel like a little kid I'm so excited about what this season could bring.

Saw Chapmania when he came to Durham, his stuff was electric but wild. Tonight he looked in command of everything.

August 2010, the month of destiny! Reds go 6-3 on the western road trip and take control of their own destiny in the NL Central by gaining 7.5 games on the Cards(in spite of going 0-3 vs. them at home), who led by a half game to start the month.

And now they are very close to the best record in the NL, which if the season ends that way would clinch home field advantage in every post-season series they'd be fortunate enough to play in. They are dead even with Atlanta, and will be either a half game up or half game back of the Padres, depending on their outcome tonight.

Anyone heard any further reports on Bruce's condition?

Pretty sad for a team with a 7 game lead in 1st place in over 10 years.

This is the most fun I've ever had watching the Reds, I was only 13 the last time the Reds made the playoffs so I don't really remember much lol ...... I'm guaranteeing a win tomorrow night and another St. Louis loss to have a 8 game lead heading into St. Louis. Which means the Cards better hope for another sweep just to get back in the race. Because after the Cards/Rockies series we only play 1 team with a winning record the rest of the year and thats a 3 game road trip to San Diego on Sept 24 - 26th.

That is good for the Reds but it is also ridiculous. How can an entire division be so bad?

If you throw out the Pirates, the Astros, Brewers, and Cubs are very comparable to the Mets, Marlins, and Nats. The difference is, the NL Central has a doormat in the Steel City.

They are only comparable in the order in which they are in the standings. Look at the run differentials. Washington would rank 3rd best in the central. The NL East is a lot more competitive.

The amazing part of August was the overall road record: 11-4 with 8-4 at home! Padres lose tonight which means the Reds go to September with the best road record in the NL and tied with Atlanta for the best overall record in the NL at 22 games over .500.

I am still leary about the six games with the Astros..they have been playing very well over the last few weeks. At this point (7 game lead on 9/1)...I am willing to say anything less than a division title would be an incredible disappointment and ruin the season.

I think that there are a lot of very faithful Reds fans who simply can't afford what many of us would consider a small amount of money. Things are still pretty tough out there economically, and a number of people who were early victims of the economic situation have yet to find employment or have found a job that doesn't pay as well as their former job did. Watching and rooting for the Reds on TV or on the radio makes those folks just as committed to the Reds as paying a lot of money for good seats, spending a king's ransom for concessions and buying a Red's cap or jersey for every occasion. I don't think it's quite fair to say what is "cheap" for us and then applying that to everyone else. I think all Reds fans are important to the cause and watching every game or tuning in on the radio is just as loyal as any other way of supporting our team.

They sell tickets for 5 dollars. Next excuse please. If thats too hard grab a seat next to the homeless guys for awhile and try your luck. You should make 5 bucks relatively quick.

I wanted to see his debut so badly in person I wanted to scream in class when he ran out of the bullpen. Damnit.
