Looks like we also get ESPN Goal line too.

Update: My wife just called TW about this and it's channel 1306. $4.95 extra a month. For that price you also get some of the other sports channels.

Just did a chat with TW customer support to find out when to expect access to ESPN3 since we are starting football season....

I do apologize for this inconvenience. We understand that access to ESPN3 is a priority for many of our customers who currently subscribe to ESPN—however, while ESPN subscribers will have access to this service in the near future, at this time we cannot confirm when the service will be available in your area. We appreciate your patience in this matter
How difficult can it be?

My guess is that Disney gave in. Disney stood to lose a lot more money in this than TW did. If W doesn't carry any Disney owned channels, yes, some people would switch, but a lot of people really wouldn't care and would have stayed with TW. Besides, while those in Columbus have tons of options (TW, WOW, Insight, AT&T, Dish Network, Direct TV), a lot of people live in a region where TW is their only option besides satellite, so they wouldn't necessarily have the luxury of switching. So yes, TW would have lost some business, but they also wouldn't be paying Disney any money and I doubt they would have dropped prices, so they would have pocketed the extra money. On the other hand, if Disney didn't give in and was dropped across TW they lose all of that subscription money and less viewers also means less advertising money. Disney stood to lose a lot more money if a deal wasn't reached. I don't know for sure, but I bet TW won this batter, which in this case is really a win for the customer.

Got an email a couple days ago that ESPN3 would be available soon. Checked last night and Time Warner had been added to the list of providers on ESPN's site. You will need to register for "My Services" on TW's page but it is up and working finally.

You not only get access to ESPN3 but also to to ESPNnetworks, which I believe allows you to watch whatever is live on ESPN at the time so you can watch SportsCenter, PTI, Around the Horn, etc. whereas ESPN3 just carries sporting events.

Also when the new 360 dashboard update comes out (I have the beta) you will be able to watch live ESPN events as well as past events on your 360 and pause, rewind, and restart them.

I tried watching ESPN3 on Monday and it didn't work. I don't subscribe to cable, but only have Road Runner...does that mean I get ESPN3? I can't imagine they'd take the time to filter out those of us who only have Internet access, but i could be mistaken.

You have to have ESPN as part of your cable package if I read the email correctly.

I just went through the motions of testing it out. I had to setup a Time Warner account thing and verify it. After it was all said and done, it said I was not eligible via my cable package. I took "true=error" out of the URL on the website and reloaded it. Now I'm watching a replay of the NC State game.

Weird.
