Right now, I'd say its a little below but it has potential. I also like it less than Arena Ball because there isn't a whole lot of difference between the UFL and NFL except that these guys couldn't make an NFL roster anymore. At least Arena Ball has its own spin on the game.
I read somewhere that the average
per game salary is about the same as the CFL (the UFL has standard salaries based on position, as I understand it - with bonuses available), but with only 5 teams, they play less games.
Last year they had four teams and two of those relocated/renamed for this season, plus Omaha is new. They have a team lined up for Norfolk/Virginia Beach to begin next season and it is likely there will be eight teams within the next two years. I thought Mark Cuban was originally going to be involved, but I know he doesn't have his own team at the moment (he may have thrown in some cash?).
I watched maybe 4 or 5 games last year. There were some recognizable names, but it still kind of felt like a small college game (to me). Seems like they played through the week.
