RBI Single by Bailey to make it 3 - 2 but Stubbs tries to go 1st to 3rd and doesn't even try to slide and is tagged out

Reds would have a multi run lead with Homer's great ABs had it not been for a failed bunt and two baserunning blunders.

Let's see how the baserunning is after the first two reach in the 5th. Well, they can't mess up on a book rule double.

HOLY SHIT!

As a former CF that play by Cain just gave me chills. Folks you can rave about teh over the fence catches...the coming in catches...that was one of the toughest all-around plays you'll ever see made in the OF. He covered so much ground at top speed and jumped full speed from the front of the warning track and caught ball full speed in mid air and hit wall before landing...and held onto the ball.

Good thing that screen he hit full bore acted more like a trampoline than a brick wall!

The #8 batter for Houston hit into a DP and got the 3rd run in clearing the bases, making it an easy decision to leave Happ in to bat. He had 92 pitches thru 7 innings with a hit and a walk.

Bruce missing out on some outfield assists lately with poor receipts of his throws!

That was a hell of a catch by Bruce. He got a fantastic jump, especially off the bat of a pull-friendly righty.

Massett gets 5 outs on 12 pitches with 2 Ks. Reds with just one healthy position player on the bench, and he's a catcher, so I'd say their team is pretty much on the field if it goes to extra innings, other than pitching changes.

How much further do you think Bruce's 9th inning fly to left goes in the first inning with the warmer air?

One thing we have seen is that the Reds may not really have an issue at shortstop next year and won't have to spend money/trade assets to fill it. Janish and Valaika have been awesome. Have to be impressed with the poise of almost all of these young guys. They come up and they produce like they have been doing it forever.
