I voted Votto but probably neither. Maybe Pujols will get a non serious injury and spend a little time on the DL.

This is the one thing that I pray to God never happens. If Votto wins it, Pujols needs to stay 110% healthy in order for it to actually mean something. While it would be a tremendous feat for Votto to win it, people would remember that he only got it because Pujols pulled a back muscle and had to sit out the final three weeks.

Its like the final season that Ted Williams batted over .400 and he went into the last game and his manager said that since he was at .401, he was going to bench him to make sure he kept that average. Williams said if I am going to hit .400, I am doing it play, not of the bench. He went 3 for 6 and raised his average to .406

Who gives a shit, Votto would win the Triple Crown...you seriously think people wouldn't remember that?

Neither because that douche in Atlanta is going to wind up getting enough at bats to qualify for batting average.

Douche? Ok...

Infante has a long way to go to get enough at bats. Still needs to average 4.5 a game. Although he is still hitting .344, so I can understand how he can be seen as a douche. Prado is also hanging around the top of the NL averages at .319.

yeah, playing several positions on call and somewhat sparingly and then having to play everyday and hitting .340 certainly qualifies him for doucheness.

I agree with all involved being healthy and doing it.

Take Votto's or Pujols numbers and compare them to Miguel Cabrera or Josh Hamilton

Too bad Bautista is going off. We could have Triple crowns in both leagues!

Yeah...Hamilton basically has Votto's HR/RBI numbers except he is batting .360.......with 40 doubles

Miguel Cabrera has their HR numbers but 106 RBi and batting just .343.....with an MLB leading 1.075 OPS.....and 41 doubles

Cabrera is the MVP of the American League IMO. Hamilton has been good but Cabrera is better and playing in a much tougher park to hit in. Believe he has lost somewhere around 9 home runs in Comerica this year when compared to other parks.

Don't give up on Hamilton being the MVP...he's catching Cabrera in OPS and other stats.....and you have to consider some the advantage Hamilton gives you on defense compared to Cabrera.

Cabrera also isn't in the playoffs.

I vote Cabrera right now.....but Hamilton can rack up the numbers to catch him.

Cabrera is a very good 1st baseman and highly underrated at the position. He makes many good throws down to 2nd to start DP's and fields the ball very well.

I hate the "this guy is in the playoffs argument". Take Hamilton off the Rangers, and they are likely still right in contention or leading the division. Take Cabrera off the Tigers and they are down with the Indians. The award is not for the best player on best team. It's for the best player who is most valuable to his team and right now, it's Cabrera. Hamilton is having a great year but Cabrera is the MVP.

No way to prove that stuff..

I only use the playoff stuff if it's very close...it's not close enough right now...but could get there.

Hamilton is GG caliber...Cabrera while being underated possibly is not
