I just renewed my Beacon subscription. Love those guys over there...they have great football knowledge and insight. Award winning paper I believe. Oh...your AD just offered my button wearing employee a job in case she gets canned tonight....said she could start Tuesday but no Dental or Medical! Phoooey, I told her to tell him that's volunteer work if he isn"t providing any benefits. she might just be pulling for the Riders tonight after all.

I just ran my 3 miles over lunch and went right by Red Rider Stadium. I didn't have my purple polo shirt on to run, but I DID have a blue shirt on. Hehe! It was a nice sprinkle/rain, too. Felt great.

Go Titans!

I think Aaron made a very good point today in the DR that week 2 is oftentimes the toughest to pick. Differing week 1 match-ups cause comparison difficulties. But when it's game day, nobody really cares any more. They're just ready for kickoff! I am worried about tonight's game (as I'm sure some Orrville fans are, too), but I'm confident as well. I will say it again - I predict the score to be 30-something to 20-something, and wouldn't be surprised if either team won. One thing's for sure. If we are fortunate enough to get a lead, I won't breathe easily until the final whistle blows. It is a LONG game, and both teams can make things happen on both sides of the ball. Good luck to both teams tonight.

Well you might want to bring a bucket with you to the game as you will be hearing that song all night. Don't let us get a big lead, you might even hear it more!

Good luck tonight to both teams!

Go Riders!

And just today with the rain, I was thinking movies and songs, and thought of Remem..... Forget the titans, and the great Doors hit " Riders on the Storm" but it has cleared up a bit but the Riders can still put a storm in the air attack :)

End of 3: 34 to 6

Nice chat at half time with Pitman, RR1 and Dorksen....all at once. I asked Pitman about finding RingZ. He said he is wearing a Titan jersey and a Steeler's hat. RR1 and I looked at each other and laughed.

Yes, I also thought Lichti looked good and it was the right decision. I am happy that Infield contributed heavily at DB. The passing game looked pretty darn good. I will be interested to see the stats. On the kick offs, if we aren't going to get it in the air very far, just start drilling the low liners.

Wow. What a game by Orrville! Big plays through the air and then some big plays on the ground. Tonight you looked like a complete team in all phases. You D-line dominated our O-line. I thought our D-line did OK, but gave up 212 rush yards on 39 carries. Your receivers were very athletic, and we couldn't guard them in single coverage. When we were on offense, we couldn't get open. Your CB's and WR's are very athletic and more talented (and deeper) than I expected. Your QB played a GREAT game! I enjoyed meeting 5knots and Flash, too.

Congratulations to Orrville on the victory. Good luck the rest of the year!

Here are Orrville's stats:

Rushing:
Simpson - 19 rush, 103 yds, 2 TD
Turner - 3 rush, 11 yds
Monheim - 5 rush, 22 yds
Lichti - 4 rush, 63 yds
Brenner - 1 rush, 16 yds
Conner - 4 rush, 2 yds
TEAM: 3 rush, -5 yds
Total: 39 rush, 212 yds, 2 TD

Passing:
Lichti - 11 comp, 22 att, 277 yds, 4 TD, 2 INT

Receiving:
Brenner - 5 rec, 132 yds, 2 TD
Turner - 1 rec, 25 yds
Rice - 4 rec, 84 yds, 1 TD
Simpson - 1 rec, 36 yds, 1 TD

Punt returns:
Turner - 1 ret, 6 yds
Monheim - 1 ret, 4 yds

Kickoff returns:
Hedberg - 1 ret, 4 yds
Lichti - 1 ret, 0 yds
Conner - 1 ret, 21 yds

what was the stat on penalties, we had to have 12 or more, total domination there also:(

BTW Genoa won big 15-7, must have rested jvs and used 8th graders tonight:)

Anyone thinking about emailing the Plain Dealer???? nice pick there..time to hire some sports writers that know there ars from a hole in the ground

Lichti played great!

Defense was solid and its time to give some credit to the d coord....biased of course!
