I think Saine started to separate himself more from Herron towards the end of the year.

Just one of those guys that makes you think he has something on Tressel. I know he doesn't, but nothing else makes sense to me.

Wouldn't have been that close if Herron hadn't missed 3 games.

I thought so to, as it certainly seemed that way, but Herron was still getting the majority of the carries. Herron carried 30+ times in the Iowa game, and Saine had less than 15 I believe.

Which makes sense because we're not sure what kind of depth we'll have at WR with quite a few unproven players in the 2-deep at that position. This is just my hypothesis from everything I've read. It could be way off!!

So 60/40? Or even? :)

IMO it will be closer to even. At 60/40 Saine would be getting 50% more carries than Herron.

I questioned you because you just pulled those numbers out of your ear.

Yea, after rethinking it, I think it will be closer to even, being that Saine should be a bigger part of the passing game this year. Also, if everything goes as apparently planned, I doubt you see more than 225 carries between Saine and Herron.

He will be a starter eventually, next year he will have a chance at the starting job and he will definately be one his SR year.

I hope Klein succeeds, but I'm not sure if I ever see him as a "starter". That doesn't mean he won't play, but I just have to imagine there will always be someone a little bit better ahead of him. I might be wrong though, because he has shown plenty of promise.

.
Exactly...meaning Herron will get as much, if not more carries this season. From what I saw last season...Tressel usually went with who was having the best game. They will both be on the field...but Saine will be used all over the field, coming up as a receiver, thus opening the field up for Herron. We won't see Herron in motion or sliding up in the 4th reciever as we will with Saine. Saine is multi dimensional and will be all over the field. Herron is more one dimensional. I think we will see very similar to last season. I thought that worked pretty well for the most part.
With the experience of the ONline and returning backs...as well as a Pryor in his 3rd year....I EXPECT to see a pretty well oiled machine offensively. I'll be hugely disappointed if the struggle on a consistant basis.

All thugs don't wear NY Yankee caps turned sideways...sometimes they wear John Deere caps turned backwards.
