Why is he a "fan"? What in this story leads us to believe he is a "fan"? Maybe he is just a "guy"? Saying Jimmy Clausen was sucker punched by a fan implies to me that it happened at the game or around the stadium, not at some restaurant hours after the game.
Where does the author of this story come off calling this guy a "fan"? Maybe if he confronted Clausen about the game you could say that but if the author of this article knew that they would certainly include it in the story. Instead we get:
The fan allegedly said something to Clausen and/or a female acquaintance.
Wow. So did he question his ability? Knock him for losing to Uconn? Say something about his girlfriend?
