When I am at the check out register of a place like Wal Mart and the person behind me in line stands so close to me I barely have room to get my wallet out of my pocket. This happened to me just the other day, and all I wanted to do was give that old bitch The People's Elbow just to clear enough space for me to operate.

People who use the term "shut up" as a substitute for "really?" or "no way" or "no shit". Was considered to be rude back in the day.

When my family members don't take the trash out. They will pile trash up so high and just keep waiting for someone else to get it. Namely, me.

People who don't clear out the lint in a public dryer after using it. Listen, I know it's gross for everyone, and it's never much fun. But it's significantly less gross for me to clean out my own lint, and it's significantly less gross for you to clean out your own lint. Failure to do something so simple immediately brands someone as a jerk in my book.

Towels folded the incorrect way... At other peoples houses. I have a serious urge to refold them for them.

I wear flip flops 12 months a year. I can not stand shoes other than flip flops or heels.

Nope. Skirts, dresses, and jeans. Can't stand shorts either. It not a fashion thing, I just can not stand regular shoes. Last pair of tennis shoes I bought was about 3 years ago and they look brand new.

The fact that turn signals seem to be optional now
Socks with sandals
People at WalMart that make two purchases, one with cash and one with a card, while other people are waiting in line.

Also people who are idiots and can't figure out how to work the self-checkout kiosks at WalMart.

People who disagree with you about some sports subject, and play the extraordinarily lame "it's obvious you never played sports" card.

Ironically enough, when someone does that to me, it turns out that person has never played at a higher level than I did.

Self-checkout morons at grocery stores. Which primarily means people who take a cart with about 100 things in it through the u-scan lines, meaning one of them will be taken for the next 30 minutes and people who move at a snail's pace because they're on their phone or talking to someone else while self-scanning.

This.

In general, it irritates me anytime someone does the, "Well, you've never been in XYZ's shoes, so you're in no position to weigh in on this subject," as though we can't draw on the wealth of our experiences to make reasoned judgments about something. I've never been shot before, but I'm pretty sure I can understand that it isn't great.

I'll also add:

*store signs that say "10 items or less" instead of "10 items or fewer"
*people who go to the "10 items or fewer" lane with more than 10 items
*people who cut in line

This also is annoying. But to me, it's also humorous, as that argument tends to be brought out because someone got butthurt because an athlete/profession etc. they love got ripped on and they aren't bright enough to come up with a real argument.

Grocery Store Department:

People who park their carts in the aisle right next to the "sample cart" while they stand and stuff their faces - and then spend three minutes trying to persuade their 87-year-spouse to try the artichoke dip (" I ain't eatin' NOTHIN that looks like cat snot, Martha!!"). Meanwhile, no one else can move. Please totter three more feet past the cart, Grandma - not all of us think a three-hour trip to the Giant Beagle is the highlight of our week.

Alternate - the 275 lb woman in a pink halter top from some remote holler in the hills who's in the Big City for the day. She's usually standing in the same spot as Grandma while she and her five kids scarf down about seventeen helpings each of the toaster strudel before cleaning out the BBQ cocktail weenies at the cart two aisles over. Feed the kids before you come in, Mom - I hear Golden Corral has a all-yew-kin-eat breakfast buffet on Saturdays!

Gawd, I'm getting impatient in my old age...
