Not a big deal at all. And it wasn't even really a punch, but more of a slap to the helmet.

I don't care about it, but it is either acceptable or it isn't. What Fisher said, "I have great confidence in the young
man that he has learned from his mistake" is dumb. Either he didn't learn from his "mistake" because he just did the same thing again, OR it is perfectly acceptable to punch someone when you get a little pissy and it wasn't a mistake to begin with.

Not even close to the same situation. Fights and punches at training camp are not only acceptable, but sometimes encouraged. Plus, the guy had a helmet on.

Clearly different than sucker punching someone after losing a game.

Should Blount have more self control? Yes. But I don't think this is any reason to overreact.

Anyone watch hard knocks? Rex Ryan was saying last night he wanted Gholston to go out and fight someone.

I'm more along the lines of this is encouraging not discouraging, and anyone who just says "thug" is ignorant to the going ons at training camp.

Fisher said it best "Is this the first time its happened in camp... NO!" Seriously you guys trying to make a big deal out of this are worse than ESPN with it's Farve coverage. Stuff like that happens atleast once a week in every camp and like dynasty said this is completely different than what he did at Oregon.

What about Ken Lucas and Steve Smith in Carolina last season, or Brady Quinn and Shaun Smith for the Browns. Not a big deal in this instance but it def raises a flag.

There is a bar fight virtually every weekend night. Does that make it acceptable behavior? It is not completely different in that the guy clearly has a short fuse. I don't care if the coach/team or whoever wants to excuse it in this case, but it definitely shows he didn't learn anything about self-control or anger management from the first incident. Eventually, that might catch up with him.

So if you hit someone who has been giving you shit for 2 weeks, you have a short fuse?


Just because you fight someone or punch someone doesn't necessarily mean they have a short fuse.

Oh please. Giving him shit for two weeks? He's on a football field. Getting roughed up a little bit is to be expected. If throwing a punch is acceptable or if it isn't wrong and if they "pushed" him too far (not HIS fault, right?) then why did he immediately apologize? If it wasn't wrong, what is there to be sorry about? He lost the battle with his emotions again and he knows it. Doesn't make him the devil and doesn't even necessarily mean he should be punished. But it definitely shows he didn't "learn" anything.

Now you are seeing a pattern with this guy in which the way he handles his precious little feelings is by throwing punches. Again, if the team overlooks it, great for him. If punching is not off limits in training camp, great for him. It doesn't change the fact that he has issues. Eventually, the same thing will happen at the "wrong" time/place again.

I'm not trying to make a big deal about it. I just think it's funny. I don't think he'll be in the NFL long. I just think if I was a rookie with a bad rep, the last thing I'm going to do is cause a scene.

Apples to oranges.

Fighting in public places like bars is against the law.

Fighting in a controlled environment like practice is acceptable. It happens and hardly ever gets out of hand.

I'm going to take a wild guess and say you never played?

Also, I don't blame Blount one bit for KO'ing that douche from Boise St.

Again, just because nobody ever presses charges in those situations doesn't make it any more legal to assault someone. But that isn't the point anyway. The guy can't handle his temper, plain and simple. I don't care that he hit the Boise guy (dude shouldn't talk shit if he can't back it up) and I don't care that he did this. But you can't say "he learned from his mistake" if HE JUST DID THE EXACT SAME THING. He is no different of a person than he was before, that is all I said.

Yeah, he's a bad ass. I get it. I still believe that he will end up doing something similar in the wrong place or at the wrong time and it will get him in trouble. It obviously doesn't take much to set him off and somewhere along the line, someone is going to get him riled again and he will react the exact same way. And then he's going to blame that person for the fact that he can't handle himself.

Meh, there is a reason bar fights are typically prosecuted and fights at training camps are NEVER prosecuted. There is a gray area of assumption of risk.

But I do agree that he is no different than before.
