Is this the first time a team whose season was already over has climbed back into first place with 46 games to go?

Working out nicely surviving this game tonight along with the beating of Johnson last night, and the Cubs beating Carpenter today. Make it a split for the homestand tomorrow, and the 0-7 record in the only two series the Reds have lost out of the the last 15 or so will be a more distant memory, with the next bad memory likely to be a swoon on the 9 game western road trip.

He is without a doubt an awful 31 save pitcher. Another night where his infield bails him out.

Ask lhslep, if he isn't too busy interviewing Thad Gibson, he should know the answer.

So who won't play tomorrow?

Votto and Rolen most likely not playing, who else?

Reds are 8-4 for August. If the Reds can get back from the west with no worse than 12-10 for the month and not be swept in SF, they shouldn't be too bad off.

Votto will play. Rolen may sit. My guess would be:

2B Phillips
3B Cairo
1B Votto
CF Edmonds
LF Nix
RF Bruce
3B Francisco
C Hanigan

Gonna load the lineup with lefties against Sanchez.

Nice recovery after the season ending sweep earlier this week.

Just need to come out tomorrow and get the job done and I'll be, gulp, rooting for the Cubbies.

wasn't paying real close attention but didn't seem like Leake could keep the ball out of the middle of the plate very much... sinker just looked flat through the zone and the change up backed up over the middle... gotta spot pitches a little better

You have too many 3rd basemen in the line-up!

I obviously meant Cairo at SS! Or Janish. Either way, I see Francisco starting at 3B and Dusty loading the lineup with lefties.
