When will people learn to ignore Sharpton/Jackson....I think everyone sees them for what they are, and sure, they've got a few supporters still left, however, any race baiter of any color has those, and I'll not start a "My race baiter is worse than your race baiter!!" war, because at the end, the entire lot of them are idiots.

Honestly, this wasn't a hate crime, there was nothing in it that stated it was racially motivated. However, the argument that any senseless crime against another human is a hate crime is one to take a look at, and make sense to me.

But that's just the thing. Whoever said that if the races were reversed in this situation Sharpton would be on Kent's campus rallying is exactly right. And Upper, you KNOW it's true. It'd be all over the news and he'd be there to make sure it was handled as a hate crime--and in the end it would be handled that way. You know that's true, I don't really expect you to admit it but I don't need you to. It's definitely the way things are. People will learn to ignore Sharpton and Jackson when the black community stands up for itself and quits allowing them to be figureheads. No one in the black community needs to "step up". We all, ALL need to take care of ourselves, our families, and the betterment of our own personal community, instead of trying to anoint someone as a speaker for a racial community. Whites complain about RACISM. Basically "leave me alone, I'm not racist."

I believe what he is trying to say is that blacks complain about ACTS of racism. "I didn't get that job, only because I'm black. You're racist."

If something happens to a white person, they are not eager to pull out the race card, like many other races are. We did it to ourselves, though.

I doubt that concealed carry would have saved this young man. Was he in a bar consuming alcohol? If so, he couldn't have legally been carrying a concealed weapon in that establishment. Not to mention that carrying one when you have been drinking is not very smart either.

Actually..you can't say never. I lost a great job opportunity once to someone of a different race just b/c they didn't have 'enough' people of that race in this particular place of employment. Even though I was better qualified..I didn't get the job..just b/c I was white. So yes..being white..it really went against me there.

Sounds like if that was the sole (proven) reason, you should have pursued a lawsuit.

If you were better qualified, and they informed you that the reason you lost out on the job because they needed more black employees, and you were white.....that's technically not legal, I believe.

Yes..that wasn't the 'technical' reason..I never did receive an 'official' reason as to why I didn't get it. That was the reason told to me from someone I know that was involved in the hiring process. I have no ill feelings about it. Wasn't a big deal to me. I was just using that as an example of how being white has went against me.

There was three ( 3) guys ...Where is the other person and why have the police reported this third person. Are the other two so sadden by what they have done they can turn in the third person ...are they will to take the fall for who?????
