2010 PGA Championship starts Thursday morning at 7 am. The PGA will be played at Whistling Straits in Kohler, Wisconsin. Vijay Singh won 3 hole playoff in 2004 the last time the event was held there. Last year YE Yang outlasted Tiger to win his first career major. TNT will carry tomorrow's first round starting at 1 pm.

also, head over to vbookie. We have 3 events for the PGA and should have at least a new one for each round.

As open of a major as I can remember in recent memory. No clue really who to label as the favorite. Tiger's a mess, Phil played good part of last week but blew up and who knows if that injury might flare up, and Stricker's the popular pick but has never done it before. Who really knows what to expect, I'm just hoping for some big names at the top, this course could make for some very exciting golf with some interesting names in the mix.

Tiger opens with a birdie after a fog delay.

And he adds a birdie on the 3 mile long par 5 11th. Carried his drive about 350 off the tee and hit in iron to pin high and just off the green.

seriously...how does the ball on 16 hit the center of the hole and role so far away he misses the birdie and then how does that putt on 17 for birdie stop short? Both were completely center cut from 40 feet......that's a phenominal sign...but again....nothing will happen aas long as I watch.

Needed about one tenth of a revolution there for another birdie. If he keeps hitting the ball well off the tee he will run away with this.

He will run away with it? You act like he is out in front right now...

Slight sarcasm, although he is playing well. He's had good looks at birdies on all but one hole so far.

When was the last time he consistently made putts? Ill give you a clue, it was before he caught a 9 iron to the grill, nice to see him striking it well but he cant putt right now

His putting looks 100 times better than it did just last week. Also its seems at least so far that his mind is more locked into golf this week than it was last week in Akron. He is hitting good putts, and some of them will start falling. These greens aren't like they are at the John Deere invitational.

Yes it does, there are over 1000 bunkers if I heard right. I looks fun to watch but I don't think it would be much fun to play.

I don't think I'd be able to finish the round. I'd either lose every ball in my bag in the fescue or wouldn't be able to walk after how many beers it would take to take the edge off.

Tiger really took a shit on the back(front) 9. But can salvage it with a birdie on 18(9).

And as I was typing that, he stuck one to about 5 or so feet just outside of Y.E. Yang's ball.

Knocks it in for his first round under par and what seems to be like 6 months.

Good to see Tiger play a good round after that debacle last weekend. If he puts together a solid round tomorrow too, then he might be a contender. Even when playing decent in the majors this year, he has really lacked consistency. A good round tomorrow would begin to establish some actual consistency in his game, and might give him enough confidence for an exciting weekend. Really wish that eagle putt and the birdie attempt on 17 would have fallen for him.
