I was at Cedar Point three weeks ago, King's Island last week, and I'll be back at Cedar Point again tomorrow. I like King's Island as a park because it's large and well laid out, however, compared to CP, their coasters suck. The Beast is the only really good coast at KI and Firehawk is pretty good (except I lost my wallet on the ride, but thankfully got it back). Other than those two, none of their coasts can hold a candle to anything at CP. Diamondback might be the fourth or fifth best coast if it were at CP. King's Island's a nice park, but if you are just going for the coasts, it's all about CP.

Anybody who says KI has better coasters than CP has no idea what they are talking about. Also am I the only won who feels the Beast may be a little overrated?

No way. The best time to ride The Beast is at night around 10:30-10:45, it's the best night coaster around.

I go to Kings Island atleast once a year b/c it's a lot closer and a staight shot on I-71 south, unlike CP when we got lost in Amish country on the way up and back.

Its a shame that Son of Beast is still closed, it's my 2nd favorite ride behind The Beast.

Ummm you shouldn't really be near Amish country at all, lol. I'm interested to know how you managed to get lost.

You must live in SE Ohio then, it takes about 3 1/2 hours to drive from KI to CP.

I was in the backseat when all this happened. My friend who was driving took a lot of "back" roads on the way there, and we got lost on the way back going through Bucyrus.

Sucks to hear about SotB. That was a great roller coaster, too bad some pussies had to ruin it for everyone. Glad I got to experience it.

Then they fixed it. Last summer a woman in her 70's I believe rode it and came back a couple of weeks later and said she had a blood clot in her brain b/c of it. If she was smart and told the ride staff when she got off that her head was bothering her it most likely wouldn't be closed of now.

Its good because of how long the ride is, but quality is just average.

I needed to see a chiropractor after riding the beast. Maybe its just me, but I can't enjoy a coaster that causes me pain.

Then you definitely would not have enjoyed Son of Beast.....it is ten times rougher. The Beast is rough, but it never bothered me like SOB, Wolfbobs(geauga lake), and a few others.

After going to CP, every other amusement park is just lame.

Living in Sandusky, I've had my fair share of Cedar Point over my lifetime and yet NOTHING beats it. It's just a park that you can't get tired of, especially if you love coasters.

People who go there and claim you gotta wait half a day to ride the rides there, well, you need to figure out the best times to go. Obviously weekends aren't that time, especially during the summer.. You can say the same about any of the top parks in the world though.. Obviously the great ones attract the people.

I've always found that during summer Tuesdays and Wednesdays are best, especially if you get there when the park is opening. Obviously when school begins that's a great time to get there as well..

I haven't had the chance to get there this year though, but I always go to Halloweekends. Nothing beats that.

This although I don't live in Sandusky. Also in my experience Sunday is a great day to go to Cedar Point as well. Also take a risk and go on a day it may rain, also if is does rain try and check the weather and see if it is going to stop soon. Earlier this summer is was supposed to rain and so CP was pretty dead already then all of a sudden the rain came and it poured for like 20 minutes and lots of people left. I think after it rained I only waited like 30 minutes max for the top rides and that was for the front.

Honestly, it's ahead of dragster in my top 3. It's amazing. Be sure to ride in the front or back though. The middle is a tad bumpy.

Maverick is a great ride, its fast and quick and the first hill although not huge is pretty cool.

Also I disagree with this the best coaster around here to ride at night is Millennium Force especially in the front.

raiderbuck a word of advice try and move your head with the turns... I've had many people say they didn't really like Maverick because the first time they rode it they had headaches or their ears hurt because of there head hitting the pull down bars on the turns. Its an awesome ride though hope you get to go on it.

Agree about the Force being the best night coaster. Right next to Lake Erie, great view.
