lol at people trying to discredit Van Gundy. He took a team with mediocre talent to the finals and made the playoffs in 9 of 11 seasons as a head coach. You on the other hand, post on ohiochatter.

While I agree, JVG won't be alone in REALLY pumping up MIA (not that they need any)...The hype will help drive TV ratings. I wonder how many games the Heat will end-up with on national tv.

I'm pretty sure I heard someone say they'll have the maximum of 33. But I might just be making that up.

It's already been said but a team like this will have two potential pitfalls. If any of the three are out for a prolonged period and they have to go to their bench, that will make a difference in the chemistry on the floor. Also, there will only be one ball and I still think that ego will rear it's ugly head sometime during the season, and this team has more than one ego to keep in check. 70 is a lot and 33 in a row is more than that. With no injuries and no ego problems I look for the Heat to be around 62-65 wins. I have to believe that they will rest players toward the end if they are still undefeated two weeks before the play-offs commence.(That was a joke, but if JVG is right, that is a very real possibility!)

He has dropped 22+ and 10+ in 3 of the last 4 years and is undoubtedly a TOP 5 PF in this league. Is he the best? No, but he's definitely top 5.

For you to disagree is to mean you're extremely blinded by hatred for Bosh for joining the 3 egos regardless of whether you're a cleveland fan or not.
Bosh has been a good player but with all the attention he got this offseason, you would think he is Tim Duncan or Kevin Garnett. Actually watch him play a lot of games and you will see he gets lazy, takes a pounding from bigger PF's, and is a sub par defender. That's great that he averaged those numbers on a shitty team for 7 years. There was no excuse for the Raptors to have not made the playoffs last year and he quit on them during the season because he knew he was going to get paid by someone else. I believe he is overrated because he is barely a top 5 PF but wait until the playoffs roll around when Garnett and Howard abuse the hell out of him in a 7 games series and if they get to the Finals, Gasol will hammer him as well. What has he done in his career to deserve all of this attention? Only been an All Star a couple of times, been Second team all NBA twice. That right there are his accomplishments in 7 years. He is a good player but he is the 3rd option on the Heat and I won't be surprised at all if you see his numbers dip some this year.

Garnett is not going to abuse Bosh. Just not going to happen and if you truly believe that, you are either stubborn, naive or ignorant.

Howard is a center. Bosh if a PF.

Gasol and Bosh are basically the same players and would cancel each other out.

Garnett other than game 1 of the NBA Finals pretty much held his own and even won a couple games vs. Gasol & Odom. And Bosh isn't in their league when it comes to playing physical. Now I'm not saying KG will be at MVP level but it usually takes a full year to recover from the surgery he had and he was just starting to get his legs under him in the playoffs. So another full off-season of rehab and conditioning should really help KG.... Bosh can only WISH he has the career KG has had

Garnett can and will abuse Bosh because he will beat him down in the paint. Bosh does not like to be physical and can't take a pounding over 7 games from the elite and bigger power forwards or centers in the league. Howard is a center but during the course of a game and with Miami having little depth down low, Bosh will get matched up with him numerous times and get abused. And if you think Gasol and Bosh are basically the same, you don't watch much of Gasol. He is gotten so much better the last 3 years and is a very complete player, much moreso than Bosh could hope to be.

Garnett is a finesse player who is way past his prime. What makes you think he will "abuse Bosh down in the paint"? That's just not true. Could he outplay him a game or two? Maybe. But to say he will abuse him is just stupid.

Howard is a defensive presence. He lacks the offensive skill set to really take advantage of anyone in the playoffs because teams just foul him. Miami will have enough bodies to foul him.

Bosh is the same player as Gasol, and IMO, better.

BTW, everyone wants to call Bosh soft and think he doesn't like to play in the paint, yet he was 10th in the NBA in rebounding last year, averaging 10.8.

I think that this team might come close to the 70 win mark just because they will be trying to prove something to people. I dont know if they have enough to win it all this year

Van Gundy is a jerk. I know he has the right to an opinion, but he is making a complete ass out of himself.

I'll hold my breathe waiting for them to win 72+ games while bosh and wade are injured and Z is trying to guard Howard.

They'll win 60+ games next year, but it is year 3 I think they could win an absurd amount of games. The roster now is actually better than many people thought it would be as Miller and Haslem are legit pieces in a supporting role. 2 summers worth of mid level exemption guys though will really help build the depth even beyond what they have now, which is why I think year 3 will be the year they put the major assault on the rest of the league.

They might still win championships before then, but all things being equal that 3rd and 4th year should be really special after a few years of quality roster additions.
