I thought this pitcher threw hard? Travis Wood throws harder than he does.

Dusty talking about putting his players wehre they can be most successful.....and then doesn't let Stubbs play in Chicago.......nice

Stubbs will probably get the start versus Cy Carpenter and Cy Wainright

This pitcher threw hard a few years ago...hence the 2 million dollar signing bonus upon being drafted.

Yeah I heard that at the beginning of the game. Welsh keeps saying he throws hard though even after Tommy John surgery. I still am wondering how he struck out 10 Brewers in his debut. His stuff seems pretty average

I kinda wish the Reds batters would have a facemask on their helmets.

Welsh also said that EV has consistently throwing 97-98 after his recovery and I've yet to see 1 single pitch over 96 in 4 starts......mainly 93-94

Welsh also guessed Andre Dawson as a former Cub that led the league in walks, yet Dawson in his 22 years never had over 44 BB

Lee's drive just over to the right far enough that Bruce has a deeper part of the park available to make the catch. Wood with 12 batters faced and 12 outs on 36 pitches.

Jeff Baker at 2nd base makes how Jeff Kent used to play look like how Roberto Alomar used to play

Just think the payroll of the Reds starting 9 today: Roughly $4.2 million.

Team Payrolls Reds $71 million; Cubs $144 million

Looks like the Cards are going to have a long day on their last day in Florida. They might be better off to send those three pitchers on to Cincy to avoid the rain induced disruption of their game today.

Now twice today the Reds have swung at pitches that would've hit them...Gomes did it on ball 4 and now Cairo joins him......those are easily overcame against the lowly Cubs.........thoe must be avoided the next 3 days....ESPECIALLY on Monday and Wednesday

Didn't see the pitches but where would they have hit them? I'm not taking one up 7-0 either send Dorn in for that.

I don't at all consider that failing, but good to see all the RBIs by batters making outs. That is good situational hitting! Only the Franciso RBI on the force at 2nd an a ball that should have been caught was not good situational hitting.
