I think 78 pitches is the fewest I can remember in a 9 inning complete game.....these free swinging putrid Cubs against the wonderful young stud may get close to it.

Gomes with 4 walks and 3 runs scored.....that would've been about a 500/1 prop...or more

I agree with this. The Reds are going to have to be able to score runs playing small ball if they want to advance in the post season. They can't always sit back and wait for someone to split a gap or hit a HR. Its a sign of a good team that is able to do that. Rick Ankiel advanced a runner to third on a ground ball to the right side and he was congratulated when he got back to the dugout like he has just hit a 3 run homer.

I'd like to see CoCo pitch the 7th or 8th today just to see where he is at after getting lifted last night.

Sure, they're better than the Braves, but they aren't unbeatable.

Its getting to be a close enough game that Coco may have a blown save opportunity!

Bray wild pitches the runner to 2B with less than 2 out, but then Ks Hill for the 2nd out. This forces Pinella to bat Zambrano to pinch hit instead of the either of the two lefthanded pinch hitters on the bench, which are really the only postion players he has to hit since Soto has a bad shoulder which affects his hitting, but not his throwing. Dusty's move that seemed strange to bring a lefty in works out as he gets out of the 7th without further damage. He'll leave those two left handed pinch hitters for Coco in the 9th!

Gomes breaks the string of four walks and four runs. I wonder if there has ever been a MLB player to walk and score in his first four plate appearances in any game?

Another poor AB by Franciso with a runner on 3rd and less than two out to spoil Gomes good chance to score five times today.

Heisey's shirt hit a little harder this time on his 2nd HBP of the day. And both times he's reached on the BHPs, his reach has ended up scoring.
