I hate to be "that guy" but I don't think you should call someone an "internet tough guy" directly after saying "come get some fucking loser" on an internet message board.RelsonGracieBJJ;443177 wrote:DeyBitch every time I post here you chime if. no pants. Usually I see this happen here. Someone talks shit to someone. When that someone responds. People post those tough guy pics. I have no problems with anyone here. Not looking for any..

WHO GIVES A SHIT about how much anyone can lift at West Side Barbell!
I've seen those guys in action. Sorry I'd like to be able to move around after I'm 50.
Its not how much you can lift, its how you lift. You can lift a ton of weight with bench shirts and rubber bands and blah blah....cool. Impressive? Yes somewhat....but you won't see me stroking it to a 2000 leg press.

to be honest Automatik I am pretty sure you have never seen anyone lift at West Side Barbell or any other Gym.. And hopefully by the time you are 50 you won't be such a douche.

To that point I had done two, as it was the day of the week I did chest/tri's. He went through his entire workout plan telling me how and when he does certain exercises. Everything he mentioned I did in fact do as part of my workout, just on different days. If I was in the market for a trainer, I wouldn't be asking some 5'2" Chinaman walking around in a long sleeved long john shirt with cargo pants on.
Did he also say "You Wanna Fuck on Me? My name is Leslie Chow"

Ronnie also has a ROM of about 6 inches. Not really impressed with his leg pressing. The 800lb. ATG squats on the other hand are impressive.

Well this escalated quickly...
Try to keep it more civil guys or we might have to do something about it.

Funny that a thread about douche bags at the gym turned into a few douche bags arguing with each other...hilariously ironic.

Those of you who attended or are attending BGSU, then you may know what I'm talking about. However, I don't think it is the same now, as it was from 1999-2004. There were three different workout areas.
Downstairs was the f'ing meatheads. It was all free-weights. Guys standing around in their cliques, jerking each other off, screaming while lifting, acting like tools. The guys that are still wrapped up in HS football, or the guys that wanted to play football but weren't good enough, and are now trying to fit in with this crowd. To me, it's not relaxing at all. I don't care how much you can lift, I don't care how big your arms are, and I don't give a flying f*ck if you're intimidating. Your schtick doesn't work for me.
Mid-level was the nautilus room. This was the most relaxing room, to me. You still had your meatheads that would wander in, but you could comfortably get a work out in without feeling like it was some f'ing competition. Some hot women, but a pretty peaceful place.
Upstairs was the cardio workout area with some more nautilus stuff. More hot women up there, so the guys that are lifting up there are there for one reason.
I've lifted for years, can lift a decent amount of weight, and I have never understood the need for competitive lifting, outside of actual competitions and organized sports. Freddy Frat Guy and Tommy Too Cool make me want to vomit while lifting, so I will usually try to pick the least busy time in the most peaceful secluded place to life.

Wow this thread got crazy!!!
BJJ why does being able to lift sooo much weight make you so much cooler then maybe someone who can do sooo many sit ups and have great cardio and have a tone body?
This is why after hs I never lifted a weight outside of while our soccer girls were working out. People take the lifting too far. I have small muscles, have never wanted to be "buff". In fact I'd probably look stupid being huge. But I do enjoy just being in shape and keeping it that way.
I just don't understand why the normal person to BJJ is a douche because they don't leg press 2,000.

It's a cool feat, I just don't see where that makes you not a douche compared to someone else doing other things, and yet they are a douche??
Cool that guy leg presses 2,000+.
I'm no more impressed with that then I am that Jon deibler runs a 4:57 mile.

There is a particular poster on this site that always talks about leg pressing whenever exercise is brought up. Because of this there is a meme on this sight to say that if you don't leg press 2000+ you aren't shit.Midstate01;443486 wrote:It's a cool feat, I just don't see where that makes you not a douche compared to someone else doing other things, and yet they are a douche??

I think you have to give credit to anyone that takes the time to workout and take care of their body but I think that if you are lifting 2000 lbs at the gym then you are really dedicated and working harder than most people and should be proud of yourself.
