Even if Ben is cleared to play, whomever the back up is better show up ready to take some snaps. If KC's D can get to Ben he might be taking an early exit from the game against the raven's. True their D is a little less than than it has been in the past couple of years, but they won't back off this week, they have some revenge to get after the three beat downs they suffered at the hands of the Steeler's last season.

Per Mike Tomlin's presser today, Ben is expected to play and Dennis Dixon will be his back-up. Also, Steelers looking to sign former Pitt QB Tyler Palko to the practice squad.

LOL.........I think Clausen is having a little better year stats wise than Pryor.

Even though it seems like the Dixon issue is a moot point right now I think it brings up a good point about having a quality and healthy back up QB when your stud QB takes the kinds of shots Ben seems to take. Call it a fluke that Batch has been hurt the past two seasons, but he hasn't been able to answer the bell when it sounds. It seems that a lot of the Steeler's short comings are being exposed this year. So I guess it is time to recognize them, work on them, and get better.

Speaking of short comings, anyone want to start a thread about the Black and Gold's special teams?

True, true. But just bringing up his name in this conversation to a Domer is pretty good entertainment.

Dixon would do fine if he had time to play and grow.

He wouldn't come in and do very well Sunday in Baltimore but overall I think he can be a decent NFL starter.

Tampa Bay placed Byron Leftwich on IR with an elbow ailment today so I guess it would not have mattered anyways. LOL

And Josh Nesbitt has a better record than Pryor. Is he a better QB than Terrelle?

Nope, just proving that the stats mean nothing. TP has played pretty damn good football the last 4 weeks. He's starting to come into his own... I'm hopeful that he has a BIG game in the Rose Bowl.

^^^^^Please, Pryor is so overrated it's sickening and don't even bring up his chances at the next level because they are slim to none. Stats do mean nothing but mechanics and being able to make every throw in the book does.

Back to the Steelers, I beleieve the are waiting for Palko to clear waivers and then he will be signed to the practice squad.
