Not looking good early for Leake. Down 2-0 with just 1 out in the 2nd.

Then Leake hits a batter ..... with this lineup 3 runs or more might be hard to get tonight

I disagree with that rule...
When Leake hit McCutcheon it was clearly 100% an accident. The Reds should not get warned for an accidental HBP. When the team retaliates, they should get warned. If they hit another player, see ya.
And you don't retaliate when it wasn't a purposeful pitch.

Am I way off base here?? It's pretty obvious when a pitcher is TRYING to hit someone and when a pitch gets away from him.

And of course on the night the Astros are wiping the plate clean with St. Louis, the Reds look like total garbage.

It wasn't on purpose...and Leake getting drilled pissed me off...but Leake took it and went to 1st and then didn't retaliate.
Pirates pitcher just lost a teammate to a beaning in the helmet and he'll probably miss a week or so......hitting Leake with a 6-0 lead makes him feel like he's protecting his teammate and punishing Leake....even though everyone surely feels it was an accident.

He has a bruise on his neck...he'll be back in the lineup by this weekend.

Did the Piratees pitcher know that before hitting Leake?
We'll see when he comes back.

I wouldn't have minded the beaning of Leake if he had thrown it at his back. Throwing at his knees is a bitch move.

Well I'm glad they have decided to actually play baseball.
Only took 6+ innings.

Phillips can't score from 2nd on a ball that got Janish from home to 2nd.....but the correct play...nice job by Janish

^^Yeah, had Barry waited another half second, he could have sent him. But it was a good play holding him and an even better job by Janish taking 2nd on the missed cut off throw.

Must have missed all the fireworks. Reds look to be battling back and a good ab by Rolen and we are right back in it.
