If you want a really under the radar breakout team take a look at Middle Tennessee State. They have a great shot to become the first school in the history of the Sun Belt Conference to post back to back 10 win seasons. They bring back 8 starters on offense and 6 on defense. They also have Dwight Dasher, probably the most entertaining player in the country that absolutely no one has heard of. A small sample of his work:

Hoping Michigan too. They have to break out eventually with all that talent.

I think people should keep an eye on Purdue. Depending on the QB situation, they may be the breakout team of the Big Ten and get some quality wins this season.

LSU will be lucky to come out of their first 6 games with 3 wins. if they make it through that stretch okay, i'll be on board.

my team is probably TAMU.

a team to watch for next year is Wyoming, they are in year 2 of a complete rebuild.

I think Marve benefited from the transfer and has the potential to become a good QB. That said, I REALLY hope Ohio States stomps the fuck out of them after Purdue Harbor

Me too. I think the Marve transfer will be a huge help to them. We will see, but they will be a sleeper in the B10. OSU is loaded this year so I don't have too much worry about that game. Then again, I didn't last year either. I can see Purdue winning 9 games this year with wins over Michigan, Notre Dame, and maybe Wisconsin/Michigan State.

I agree that my boys from Washington will have a banner year. It was just two years ago that we went 0-12. Last year we would have gotten to a bowl if we had just held on against Notre Dame. I am expecting nine wins this year.

I couldn't agree more on Florida State. They bring back a ton of starters from a very good offense. I think they can be really good.

I think that if Griffin is healthy, Baylor should put together a nice season. They have to go to TCU, Colorado, and Texas, and have OU and A&M at home, but they have some very winable games on the slate. I think the Bears go bowling in 2010.

Newton was a 5-star recruit and actually didn't do too bad being throwing into the SEC as a true freshman. There is no reason he shouldn't start, I don't care if Mike Hartline out-performs him. He is the future and has the pedigree to be an All-SEC performer.

That was a great (and crazy) game to see from inside Notre Dame Stadium. The double goal line stand after the ole "roughing the snapper" call was the best defense the Irish played under Weis.

One team I think a lot of people are sleeping on is South Florida. They've been the poster program for the last few seasons, of starting strong and then falling apart late in the year, but now that Leavitt is gone, I honestly don't see that being a problem under Skip Holtz. I think Holtz was a great hire, and they bring back BJ Daniels and a ton of athletic guys that beat Florida State and went bowling last year. They have an early game at Florida, and a late-season game at Miami. If they win 1 of those 2 games, they would be 2-1 over the last 2 years against the tradition 3 "powers" in Florida.

No they would be 2-2 seeing how they lost last year to Miami. Way to do some research before you spout off stats.

My breakout teams are: Florida State, Washington, and Michigan.

USF is going to struggle this year. Daniels is very talented, but they are extremely thin at the RB and WR positions due to graduation, injury and a few players being kicked off the team. To give you an indication they will be relying on, what was originally their 3rd option at RB and WR will be the go to guys this year. What's more they lost their best playmakers on the defensive side of the ball as well. USF plays both Florida and Miami in non-conference games. Pretty much every other team in the BE is expected to be improved this year, including bottom dwelling UL and Syracuse. I would not be surprised to see USF finish around 5-7 this year.

RichRod better have that offense humming. They are going to have to win a lot of shootouts with the state of their secondary.
