Nothing but time and sleep for me. I don't think my liver works at full speed any more.

Water or club soda - the latter tends to lie more easily on the stomach.

I really don't like to get that hammered any more - you don't bounce back as quickly from a hard night at age fifty. However, Son of Cat Food and I discovered draft/draught Newcastle Brown Ale at Giant Eagle a couple of weeks ago - we did in two 5-liter "keglets" before calling it a night. Good thing I could work at home the next day..

Here is the ultimate "hangover cocktail" If you have an issue with being hung over a lot when you have things you have to get done or the wife hates when you lounge around all day after a night of hardcore drinking, here is what you can do to turn a hang over day into a very productive day....

First become friends with a nurse or an EMT... Most people know one. There are two things you will need for this cocktail only they have access to and they are not drugs that commonly come up missing so they are usually overlooked and no one gets in trouble... What you need is an I.V. bag (100ccs) of Lactated Ringers, and the drug Thymine. Most hangovers occur because of two major factors. First, the person becomes dehydrated... Thats the nasty sweaty stink you feel in the morning with your mouth dry where you feel like you could drink a river, and your skin feels tight. This is also the reason for the pounding headache... The second is because you body is not breaking down sugars the way it normally does... This is why you feel dizzy, lazy, restless. Inject the bag of Lactated Ringers with the Thymine and this can be done two ways... Either a slow drip over night or a wide pen drip the next morning. The Lactated Ringers has electrolytes in it which replace the ones you drank away. Also the saline solution replaces the lost water in your body. The Thymine is a drug that pretty much does nothing to the body except assist sugar in bonding with cells. This drug is given to alcoholics who have diabetes and their blood sugar drops. <-- Great drug huh? :) Next thing you know, after the cocktail has finished its drip, you feel like a million bucks :) Its the only full proof hang over remedy...

Or you can drink tons of water, eat a greasy fast food meal and pray for the best... LOL

Was up to 5 last night drinking. Woke up today at noon and chugged two vitamin waters. XXX and Revive. Neither seem to be working yet.

Greasy food seems to do the trick for me. Gatorade is a good fall back option.

I have read that Coconut juice is the best hangover cure. Never tried it, may down the road, but the best thing would be to avoid a hangover.

I always drink a lot of water before crashing. That tends to save me from the worst aspects of a hangover (headache, nausea). As for the listless, "guh, I don't wanna move" feeling, there's about three things I can do with that.

1. Deal with it (aka: I have to go to work that day).
2. Eat something and then lay back down for an hour or two (aka: Sunday).
3. Start drinking heavily again (aka: Saturday).

What are your hangover cures and must haves the following morning?

Weed cures hangovers. Smoking the morning after works, but I normally roll a joint before I go out so I can smoke when I get home. Very rarely will it result in the spins, but I never get hangovers so it's worth the tradeoff.
