Not that broken up about Kearns being dealt. He provided some depth early in the year when Brantley struggled and came out of the gate hot, but was hitting just .255 with 5 HR and 25 RBI since the end of May. Not bad numbers, but certainly not ones that we needed to hold on to over younger guys.

Next season, with Grady back, we'd have Choo, Brantley, Grady, Crowe, not to mention a couple of the prospects like Jordan Brown and Nick Weglarz who are guys who could see time this year or next.

-Trevor Crowe is not starting material. Earmuffs (he sucks)
-Sizemore hasn't looked like the same guy he used to be for about two years and on top of that he had microfracture surgery, there's no guarantee he'll ever be the player he once was.
-Choo is great. Love him as a player
-When is Brantley going to break through? Let's say he does. You have him, Choo, and Sizemore in your outfield... you know, the Sizemore coming off microfracture surgery?
-Jordan Brown? He's 27 haha. At what point does he finally shed that prospect status?
-Weglarz might be solid, I don't know, but to me he seems like he is probably another year off.

What's so bad about having a guy like Kearns on your team ready for whenever Brantley will inevitably struggles to hit or when Sizemore's fragile body lands awkwardly?

Hits, I was at the Yankee versus Indians game Wednesday night with Mr. DiBiasio....he said he is pretty confident Choo is staying stateside and not going to the military.

The only thng I disagree with is Crowe. I dont think he is a stud by any means, but he has been much better defensively and offensively than I expected. I think hes a pretty solid player.

Everything else is pretty much spot on and how I feel about this team.

The US is not going to deport Choo and force him to join the military over there. That's just something we're not going to do. All Choo has to say is "no" and there is nothing they can do. He might not ever be able to return, but that's a trade off I'd be willing to make.

Crowe can be a backup outfielder on a good team, but he should not be a starting outfielder on any team. Career .250 hitter with zero power. What is the benefit of having him in the lineup everyday?

Must be nice to have an OF with an OPS of .817 be your 6th OF.

you obviously don't watch enough Yankee games to see the tons of shitty AB's we get a night out of Marcus Thames....

Plus Curtis is part of a mini youth movement which I really love and has come up big in a few key situations this year.

Wizhurd,

Berkman would become the everyday DH and would spell Teixeira every now and then at 1st base. Posada has a balky knee right now that nobody is really sure whats happening with and we've seen Cervelli more and more in the last couple of weeks. Something tells me that if NY wins another championshp this year, it could be it for Posada.

I thnk the lineup, assuming Kearns is only a bench player will look something like this:

Jeter
Swisher
Teixeira
Rodriguez
Cano
Berkman
Posada/Cervelli
Granderson
Gardner

It's ok, grodt. I have a feeling that Austin isn't too broken up about it either. Let's stop and think for a moment...Indians? Yankees?...Let's try it again, Indians? Yankees? I think this would be the time for the word DUHHHHHHHHHHHH??????? to be inserted. The big winner here is once again not the Indians, but rather the latest escapee from Lake Erie. And you know as well as anyone what is most likely going to happen here. Kearns will become a valuable cog in the Yankee machine when they need it the most.

I just seen on the Indians website that the Indians are about to trade Westbrook to St Louis and a third team may be involved.

Right....It was always down to Choo. But it is a huge decision in his life, and at the start of the year no one knew if he was going to join or stay and play ball. Now (ok, so one source, lol) it seems as though he is going to choose baseball over his country.

By country do you mean forced conscription? Choo is in his career years. He should get a hefty raise here in the next few years. I can't blame him for his apprehension. It would be nice if S. Korea would be willing to negotiate with Choo and agree that he will serve sometime down the road.

yes, as in he cant go back to South Korea if he doesnt serve the 2 years before he is 30.

Naturally Kearns will play a huge role with the Yanks, and Jake Westbrook will probably pitch in the World Series as well. Just the way of life for Indians fans.

Dude, Crowe is young and hasn't had much MLB experience relatively speaking. He's a solid player and definitely capable of starting.

Plenty of great teams have had an average hitter in the OF who makes up for it with defense.

Common misconception.

Now obviously Dolan isn't the biggest spending owner, but he does shell out money when players show they deserve it.. Unfortunately for him, Westbrook and Hafner fizzled right after they got their contract.

The Indians biggest blundering has been drafting. They've gotten better the last couple seasons though.

Thames with 6 HRs last 6 games. Making a huge impact on the depleted Yanks at the moment.

Curtis is currently in Scranton-Wilkes Barre.

I do. I give Marcus lots of props for turning things around. You pretty much knew Curtis was going down w/ those 3 roster acquistions
