Will be heading down in the morning and staying downtown after the game. Our hotel is a few blocks from the stadium and I need some good bars and places to eat before and after the game.

Any help?

I usually don't hit up many bars around the stadium so I can't be of much advice there, but I would definitely suggest Rock Bottom Brewery on Fountain Square to eat at some point. Some of the best steak I have had for 13.95.

Whatever you do make sure you fill up on food before the game. It might not be worth the risk to get a hot dog from a vendor.

The In-Between Tavern is right across the street from the ballpark, it's not bad. Gameday used to be cool but they turned it into a dueling piano bar. Lame. Palamino is attached to the Hilton, I believe, and has good happy hour deals if you eat at the bar. Visiting teams stay at the Hilton so a lot of ballplayers end up there after the games. My wife had the unfortunate opportunity of hanging out with Carlos Zambrano for a few hours one night a few months ago when he started buying her group of friends drinks.

Across the river in Bellevue is a place called Virgil's Cafe that is apparently amazing. It was featured on Diners, Drive-ins & Dives and is so popular now you gotta call ahead to get a seat. I believe we will be going there for dinner on Saturday after the game. I am very much looking forward to it.

Jealous you got tickets.

I tried to get tix yesterday and all they had for Saturday was Diamond Seats available...which figures because it's a great game plus it's Homer Bailey Bobble-Head day. And Sunday was standing room only.

Have fun!

We don't have tickets yet. We'll be getting them on craigslist or buying from a vendor outside the ballpark.

If you just want cheap beer and finger food check out Madonna's, I think it's on 7th. It's a few block walk to the stadium but nice cozy environment that doesn't get too overcrowded. Rock Bottom is a decent suggestion for a full meal. In Between is so overcrowded these days I would not suggest it, plus it's overpriced and you will have a hard time eating there unless you get there early.

Saturday has been SRO all week, if you don't have tix you will probably have to spend $20 for uppers or bleachers.

I can get one ticket to sit in the Scout box for $77. That would be great.

Heh, I saw a ticket in there as well.

I'll be taking a group of three other people so I need to find 4 together, unfortunately.

the scalpers will sell all their actual seats early at a good premium Saturday since it is a bobblehead giveaway. Not sure who really wants a Homer bobblehead but people will. I bet by 4pm they will only have SRO tix they are scalping for 10 bucks. I saw a guy go in and out about 5 times for the Sabo bobblehead with a buddy, that's 8 empty seats, sucks that they can't stop that from happening.

I always try to park in Newport. It's $3 in the levee lot or if you're lucky you can park for free in the row of sports just above the Beer Sellar and Hooters.

I'll be in left field, oh well, two rows from the field for pretty cheap so i'll take it.

So Rock Bottom is sounding like the best bet?

I always walk a decent ways from the Westin garage, not sure why I have never tried Newport before. But that allows me to talk to the scalpers on Vine st who attempt to sell tickets for $30 over face on those day games during the week that no one goes to. Same idiots do it for the Bengals.
