We have these little service roads that go through a lot of the parks. From what it describes he was trying to turn around and backed up over one of them. That park is infested with homeless though. I think its a scare tactic to get them out.

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. -- A 26-year-old woman lying in a Southside street early Monday was struck and killed by a police officer's cruiser.

If a person accidentally ran over a police officer while he was on duty, they would be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Somehow I don't think this will happen in this case. You know, cuz the homeless aren't people.

Wait, lemme guess.....the police will conduct an "internal investigation" which is police speak for "we'll cover eachothers' asses" and he will be found to have done nothing wrong.

This.

He will get probation or something from the local PD. Suspended without pay for 2 weeks.

And based on that picture in the link...the car wasn't on any type of pavement.

In Southwest Ohio it is difficult to convict murder.

I have nothing against the police. But with his 25yrs of experience, witnesses testimony that he showed immediate remorse, he may get some time off but I doubt it will be without pay.

Not to thread jack...but I'm very interested to hear who the new witness for the prosecution is for that case and what he/she has to say.

Should make trial number 3 very interesting.

Start with rule one: The Park System is not a camp grounds and sleeping in the park is illegal.
Step two: Enforce the laws that are laws … Park is no place to sleep and after hours is illegal
Step three: If the Original Laws / Ordinance were enforced this would not happen

Two wrongs don’t make a right ... sorry about the situation now is not the time to blame but to correct the wrong to make enforceing the law right.

Now let take this simple Step by Step example and apply it to other things: Enforce the Laws as they are written and avoid additional situation that have potential long term problems.

As good of way as any to deal with them. At the least, it's more logical than hoping a modern-day Pied Piper of Hamelin comes around to enchant them with music and lead them into a river to drown.

Belly is spot on. This never would have happened if she had a job and a home like normal people do.

You fucking hippie liberals claiming the police are out of control are the same ones who will cry for their help when you need it and badmouth them when you don't.
