That may be. I still have a tough time believing that a kid with a 3.8 and multiple extra activities would get rejected from Ohio State. I just dont see it, unless he bombed his ACT/SAT. I know the standards are higher but they cant be THAT much higher. If that is true than I lucked out big time.

It's not true.

My sister was a freshman last year with a 3.4 high school gpa from a terrible high school and a 26 ACT. She had some extra curricular activities but nothing too special.

So either your story is a lie based upon the GPA, or it's a lie based on the good act score. I would call a 26 ACT pretty good, but nothing special.

But someone with a 3.8, a good gpa, and extra curriculars would not get rejected from OSU. I know, because one of my roommates works in the admissions office.

See thats what I don't get. I believe the stories you guys say of the 3.4's and mid-20's on the ACT. But I also know two people with 3.8 and high-20's that got rejected. There is no rhyme or reason to it it seems.

What was the ACT score? Hugeeeee difference between 26 and 28.

Honestly, my sister didn't deserve to get in. I'm very happy for her that she did, it was just surprising to me. I think it might have to do with the fact I go here currently and both of my parents went here, but they "say legacy doesn't matter."

The whole college admissions ordeal is very gray.

He got a 28. A 26 to me falls in the mid-20's.

Maybe what major you want has something to with it? Thats pretty much how I got into Xavier I think. I certainly was on the low end of their acceptance scale.

What if you had a 19 ACT, a 2.5 GPA in high school and you are considered the nation's #1 football recruit by all recruiting services. Would that get you in?

Exactly. If people want to complain about Clarett getting in because he was an outstanding football player, there is one thing they can do about it. Hit the weight room.
