Yea, so?

Yea, so breaking tackles doesn't mean shit without some common sense to go with it. You fucking retarded or something?

It meant a National Championship trophy for OSU fans.

Arkansas and Auburn, which were used as examples, had two #1 guys.

I also never made the claim that OSU can't win without a #1 guy. I think they are just fine, especially when you factor in Pryor running the ball. OSU will be a top team this year, but would be even better with a true #1.

I think most reasonable Ohio State fans realize that we do have a #1 guy, and that guy is Brandon Saine. He has really come back around after struggling a couple seasons ago.

I do think he is the one that steps up and becomes the #1.

He is attending school at Ohio State. Not really sure what you are trying to prove?

This is probably for a different discussion, but on the Common Man & The Torg they were asking listeners, over the last 15 years if you could pick one guy to play on this years team, who would it be?

The first player that came to my mind was Clarett. The dude was a beast.

Sorry man, but anyone who would take Clarett over Beanie Wells doesn't watch much football. Clarett was a beast, but Wells was bigger, more physical, and faster.

I knew UM fans were retards.

Clarett had just as many (or more) injury problems than Wells. Wells was bigger, more physical, ran harder, and was faster.

Clarett was a beast, and OSU doesn't even get to the NC game that year without him, but Wells was a better RB by far.

I thought it has already been said Saine is the #1 since Spring?

Clarett had quicker feet, maybe better vision and was faster
Clarett stats his freshman year:
222 carries, 1237 yards, 5.6 avg

Wells stats:
Freshman - 104 carries, 576 yards, 5.5 avg (backup to Pittman)
Sophomore - 274 carries, 1609 yards, 5.9 avg (starter)
Junior - 207 carries, 1197 yards, 5.8 avg (injured)

One could obviously argue that Wells was better, however I would disagree. Clarett was dominant as a freshman, and if he didn't screw up, there was no reason to think he wouldn't have improved for his sophomore year.

He is the starter, but I'm talking about a #1 back, an absolute stud. A homerun threat. Someone to get you 100 yards every single game.

I think Saine is capable of that, but he has yet to prove it.

I heard his statement to the judge on the news a few weeks ago about why he should be released early, and it was one of those things that sounded very genuine. Having never been to prison, I can only imagine that if he has truly changed his outlook, how humbling it must be to go from having everything and being the star he was to living the life he did for 3 years in a prison. He's saying the right things and this seems to be a step in the direction of putting those words into action, so I for one hope that he keeps it going and can make something of himself. I loved his personality and his desire when he played football, but it was clear he was still very immature as most 18 or 19 year olds are. He mishandled what he had and screwed up worse than a LOT but not ALL kids his age do, and then had it magnified because of who he was. Hopefully he still holds that personality and desire, but has now grown up and matured and will become successful at whatever he chooses to do. I have no ill will towards people who screw up, pay for it and then make something of themselves/improve themselves. Hopefully, that will be his story and I wish him the best.

I made my initial point and you said "yea so". That makes you either a moron or just looking to start trouble. I sincerely hope it's the latter.

So, with this latest post, are you now trying to claim that, since Clarett is out of prison and re-enrolled at OSU, he is not one of the biggest mental failures to ever wear a buckeye uniform?

Little Danny;433357 wrote:Obviously Clarett is not going to be playing football for OSU. However, what strikes me is that he is able to get into OSU in the first place. I have had several family members and friends who were not able to get into OSU right away, they had to to go to a branch college first or Columbus State. These were good kids who actually were very good students in high school and had a decent ACT score. It's a shame a thug like Maurice seems to get in and they could not.

Best post on here. Plus, who is paying for his ''education'' ?

Clarett was faster? You lost all credibility with that post.

I assume he is talking about his speed coming out of HS or at OSU, not the 4.8 or whatever he ran at the combine. Both Clarett and Wells have 40 times of 4.5 on scout/rivals coming out of high school.

No he's trying to say "give the man a break...he paid his debt" and now people like yourself are castrating the guy because he's trying to better himself. Bet you never made mistakes in your life did you SVF? (other than obviously choosing to reside in Youngstown aka Ohio's anus)

Even so, watch the game films. In college Clarett was a beast, but he did not have "break away" speed and didn't out run DBs like Wells would at times. Clarett was an amazing HB, especially for being a Frosh, but he did not have the breakaway speed that Wells did.

He looks pretty damn fast and definitely has breakaway speed plus more than enough speed to get to the corner.

Guess I'm the only one who watched his highlight video posted on here, because he certainly shows breakaway speed.

That really was one of the best plays I remember seeing anyone in an OSU jersey make. He just got pissed and went to take back the ball. That deserves video proof to remind us all.

Clarett was the best back to come into Ohio State during the Tressel area. SAINE? Are you kidding me? SMDH.
