Man I have been arguing with this guy for awhile now. He thinks Pryor sucks....and I agree he is not the best passer but he is not the worst, and when you add in his running ability it just makes him very dangerous....Team will prepare not to stop Pryor but to try to contain him, and that is where he usually scrambles and makes a big pass play down field.

For as raw as he was coming out of HS I'm happy with his progression.

I did see some signs of regression last year, but he finished strong and I can't complain about that. Thats why I am so optimistic. Do I think OSU is going to win it all? No....but it could happen.

I think they have a very good chance....I really think the road block game is not the visit to Iowa City, but the trip to Madison.....

I don't think Pryor sucks. I think, just like everyone else on this site who doesn't see the world through Scarlet and Gray Ray Bans, he is not in the top 3 quarterbacks in the country. I have said numerous times he is a unreal athlete but as far as quarterbacking goes, he isn't where you think he is.

Just because he is not a great passer does not mean he is not a great QB

Rolling to your right, being right handed on a designed roll out and hitting a wide open RB in the flats 5 yars in front of you is a throw that you could make.

How about steamrolling over LBs and DBs? I enjoy that too.

I agree, he's not the best pocket passer/traditional QB in the game, but for dual threat...no one comes close. I'm looking at you Jake Locker.

These are the comments I find ridiculous on this thread. Which ND fans are talking shit? ND fans made no remarks about ND and how great they are, it's people like you that keep bringing them up. Again, this is proof that you fools can't take a little criticism when it comes to Pryor. His numbers are mediocre and unless his throwing mechanics and defensive reads have improved, they'll be the same this year. You're not going to be able to run over and stiff arm people all year, at some point during the season, an excellent defense will challenge him to throw and until he proves otherwise, he's not a top three QB.

The calling someone out based on who they support is the biggest copout there is.

If knutne was actually talking up ND (and for once in his life he is not :D) on this thread, that would make sense... but to just arbitrarily throw out "well you're a (insert non-OSU school) fan" as your argument is either because you are a retard or just have nothing valid to counter it with.

One or two people have come out on this thread and directly asked others who their favorite team is, actively seeking that crutch. Who someone roots for isn't relevant unless they are directly interjecting it into their argument where it does not belong. It's possible to have a favorite team and still be an objective fan of the game... just because many here can't pull it off doesn't mean it can't happen.

BJ Daniels isnt as good as Pryor, But hes close as far as a dual threat qb. Andy Dalton is a pretty damn good dual threat QB, as far as numbers, not as athletic as Pryor though. Collin Kapernick might be the only Dual threat QB that i think is better than Pryor, hard to compare bc they play in 2 totalllly different conferences

Pryor went through a little sophomore lull last season, it happens.. That's why the phrase "sophomore slump" came about, because it happens quite a bit.

However, as the season progressed, Pryor became a much better passer. He had a good game against Penn St. in Happy Valley and we all know what he did against Oregon -- the same Oregon team that won the Pac-10 with an annihilation of USC.

My opinion as well. Lets actually just vote this the 'non-Ohio State sports fan' opinion.

And let's vote this 'blanket fanbase assessment.' Give me a break, 95% of OSU fans do not think Pryor is a top 3 QB in the nation. You have your rock knutnes, we have our extremist as well.

I know what you are saying, but from my experiences, 50% of OSU fans would idolize an openly gay pedophile if they were to play for Ohio State, 25% love anyone who just wins and doesn't look at stats, 20% just love the players who get talked about and don't really know anything more than that, and 5% make up informed opinions.

Hell that is probably everyone though, OSU is just what I am subjected to.

Do you not agree that Clausen was much closer to a top QB than Pryor? And remember, Clausen played on a horrible team, Pryor for the best team/program in the country.

A good place to start would be someone who can make all the throws. Bouncing 10 yard outs two thirds of the way to the receiver doesn't exactly qualify. It also wouldn't hurt to be able to read a defense.

So, that would mean Tim Tebow was not a top QB in the country? Even though he was like the 2nd-3rd qb taken?

Haven't you and/or Tiger used the argument that NFL success/draft position is no way to assess how good of a college QB one is? Sam Bradford was the #1 overall pick. Was he the best QB in college football last year?

Last year stats:

Tebow: 2895 yds, 67.8 completion %, 21 TD, 5 INT, QB Rating of 164.17, which was the lowest QB rating of his career.
Pryor: 2090 yds, 56.6 completion %, 18 TD, 11 INT, QB Rating of 128.91, down from 146 his freshman year
Clausen: 3722 yds, 68 completion %, 28 TD, 4 INT, QB Rating of 161.43

Before you say Pryor is better because he is a dual threat at QB, remember that Tebow finished with 57 rushing TD in the toughest conference in the country and he split time as a freshman.

Obviously not considering he played a whole 2 and a half games.....Ok, I will not talk about last year, but the year Tebow won the Heisman. Meaning, he was the best player in college football INCLUDING quarterbacks. Was he a "good" passer that year and then got regressively worse the rest of his college career?
