At the time Pete Rose surpassed 1,000 career strikeouts he has already amassed around 3800 career this.....Pete had the most hits of anyone who had 1,000 career strikeouts.

What player in baseball history had the fewest number of career hits at the time in which they achieved they 1000th career strikeout.

Dunn is much closer than Reggie....Reggie was right at 1,000 hits when he got his 1,000th K....I think Dunn was in the low 800's...but I know he isn't the answer.

I also think Russell Branyan has over 1000 Ks and doesnt even have 700 hits lol.

Dunn was at 754 career hits.

Canseco is a good guess...but too good of a hitter for thsi group.

Rob Deer is actually #2 on this infamous list with just 618 career hits at time of his 1,000th whiff.....had a season where he bated .179 with 175 whiffs and just 80 hits!

But as mentioned above.......the one and only Russell Branyan edged him by 1 fewer hit with 617.

haha, thanks. That was a total guess. I figured he could have too many hits since he never plays full season, but I thought I heard he had over 1000 Ks.

I have no cheat sheets.....I have to do the research myself and this one included checking several good guesses, a little math and going back into single game logs of 1991 to find the answer.....as I already knew Branyan's for I am a stat dork.

July 5th it appears he got both his 1000th K and his 618th hit. Are we sure this wasn't a tie between he and Deer? :D

He needed 54 this year to get to 1000....he got his 54th on July 3rd......and he had 617 hits on July 3rd
