Bronson 10-4 3.96

Strasburg 4-2 2.04

Nats never score for Strasburg......he didn't do well in Cleveland.......Ohio really gets him this time

Before the Nationals get rid of Adam Dunn they may want to ask their franchise pitcher his thoughts. Strasburg has had miserable support in the majority of his games...yet in the 8 games Strasburg has started Dunn is 17/32 with 9 runs, 9 RBI, 4 doubles and 4 HR.....for a 1.040 slugging % and a .540 average.

Dunn is just 1-8 off of Arroyo and 0-13 off of Rhodes.....so should be good to go

Reds 8
Nats 2

You have to remember that Bronson pitches for the Reds and Strasburg pitches for the Nationals. I still think that Strasburg will be around a very long time and will be a premier pitcher in the Major Leagues for the duration of his career. I'm hoping the Reds can solve him and that they win the game, but this Strasburg guy is scary.

Strasburg has never gone more than 7 innings. I know it's not the Reds strong point, but they need to take some pitches, and extend some at-bats. He's gonna get his K's, but they need to make him work for them.

Cincy scores a couple late off the Washington bullpen.

Strasburg will K 10+ I bet, but the Reds will also score some runs on him.

Do the Reds lead the league in Ks? If not, I'm sure they are close.

I think I saw somewhere yesterday they have a chance to be the first team in history to lead the league in both runs scored and strikeouts.

Nice. So apparently you can be productive AND strike out a lot. I thought that was impossible.

Good/depressing article about the weak bullpen market in the MLB right now.

Yeah I guess you can live with all the strikeouts as long as someone is picking up the slack at the right time.

Another odd stat is the Reds lead the NL in runs scored but have been shut out a Major League high 11 times. WTF

They have this weird knack for being shut out one night and then hitting about six home runs the next. They're a bunch of free swingers where it seems like either nobody is hitting or just about everyone is tearing the shit out of the ball. That's really why I think they'll have some success with Strasburg. He'll strike out a lot of guys, but they'll blast a couple balls out of the park.

The makeover of this team has started. Owings down, Fisher up. Izzy about to sign. Soon it will be Springer and Izzy in the pen and Fisher and Smith will be in Louisville.

I was gonna head down to the park at 5:30 to see strASSburg warm up but it's so damn humid, might just wait and get there in the first inning.

Strasburg is an ass? or are you just being clever?

He did turn 22 yesterday.

He used to be an ass, but I think he's matured quite a bit. He did chose borASS though.

I'll take Strasburg in this one. Reds may win, but I doubt it will be through Strasburg.

Reds need to play for one or two early and be aggressive if they can manage baserunners. I don't think Strasburg holds runners all that well

Would have liked to have seen them rotate the rotation so we could have a Leake vs. Stasburg matchup tonight. Would have been interesting to see the two young pitchers go at it head to head.
