I don't think he is a dead beat but he did come into the league saying he wasn't going to fall into the "bang groupies in every city I go to" NBA lifestyle. He was saying he had a good Christian upbringing and didn't want to ruin that. Not sure when it happened but he knocked up a Magic cheerleader/dancer.
