I don't know. There was an article in the Dispatch on Clarett when he was a freshman about how he was living off campus and I think Tressel had to know about that. Maybe Clarett had the money for it, but I got the impression he was pretty poor and I wondered then how he was able to pull that off. (I had roommates in college that were on the Hockey team and they got money for room and board, but I thought they had to live in the dorms their freshman year, so something funny was going on.) That was the first time I thought something might be up. And then his car was broken into. I don't remember what kind of car it was, but I remember wondering how he was able to pull that off too.
My point in bringing up Clarett on this thread though, was to point out that it happens everywhere. I think we're kidding ourselves if we think our school (whichever school that might be) is the only school without any cheaters.
I do hate how OSU self reported the O'brien mess and then the school and the players who were left were punished. O'brien was out of a job, but still got millions. Boban went wherever he went and never had any repercussions. Whoever the recruit was went to the NBA and never had any repurcussions. I don't have a better solution, because the NCAA is limited in what they can do, but that just seems dumb.
