I think I know what you guys are trying to say. I could be wrong judging from a couple of short statements. But what the hell, I will engage in a little "prejudging" of your posts anyways.rmolin73;427651 wrote:Why would that make you prejudiced? My response and yours are probably the same.
Although my OP was meant to be humorous, as I found the experience myself. There was an underlying point to it. All of us are prejudice to one extent or another. But prejudice does not equal racist. Everyone is prejudiced, but few are in truth racist. Prejudice can fuel racism but being prejudice is natural. We prejudge people for a host of reasons. Some are based on race some not.
In fact this thread is full of prejudiced humor about certain groups of people. Some of those posts are made by those who are direct descendants of those we are poking fun at. I being one of them. No one is hating on anyone. We are all just poking a little fun at our and others prejudices. But of course if we bring in our prejudiced jokes about other groups, well there could be problems.
Prejudice is a condition of the mind. It is learned by what our mind takes in. We receive this knowledge that forms our prejudices by what the media, family, friends, or co workers feed into our minds. It is a natural function of the human mind to form a prejudged thought process. Sometimes prejudice is based in fact other times it is nothing more than hearsay.
Racism on the other hand is not natural but a perverted condition of the heart. It can't be reasoned with. Facts will not matter. The few that espouse it will in most cases take it to their grave.
