The Tide have picked up two blue chip recruits from Ohio for this class. First they landed Center Ryan Kelly out of Lakota West (rated the #2 center in the country) and now DePriest. The times are crazy when you have these two plus their leading rusher form last year being from Michigan.

would have been better with him.

Funny thing is there will be no bashing of DePriest. He is a solid kid who chose the #1 football program in the country right now who has the best defense.

It would have been good for OSU to land him, but like I said OSU has pulled in two previous #1 LB's who still have yet to see reasonable time at the LB position (Sabino and Bell). OSU will always be fine at LB.

Plus Storm Klein, who was the #2 prospect in the state two years ago.

Wow, look at all this bashing going on here.

Trey made the right choice for him and hope he does well with the Tide. Good job by following his heart also and not going where someone else pressured him to go.

I wish him the best and don't blame him in the least for going to Alabama. Great tradition, tough D, and one of the heavyweight coaches in the world of college football, back to defend a National Title. Great for him that he got an offer from the top school in the nation! The only thing I will say is that AT THIS POINT, I wasn't overly impressed with the highlights I saw of him. I thought Jordan Hicks last year was an absoulte animal, and Texas got a huge steal getting him out of Ohio. I feel like DePriest is obviously good, but he will be a guy that will be ready in a few seasons. Which is probably fine by him and Alabama, who are more than reaping the rewards of a few successful seasons in terms of recruiting. I don't want to come off as "bashing" him, just wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be after hearing so much about him.
