I don't know about the whole cracker statement, and I would never agree with Rush Limbaugh, but I don't really get why Steinbrenner is being treated like a saint in his death. He was an asshole who mellowed in his later years. But an asshole none the less.

He came back from break from talking about Michelle Obama evoking “racism” by the tea party to the NAACP. It was satire and this is taken completely out of context.

As happens most times when Rush is making headlines.

Agreed. I also agree with the part of Steinbrenner being treated as a saint. Ask Billy Martin what he thinks of "The Boss". Steinbrenner is one of the major reasons why there is very little parity in baseball.

I'm not going to say what Rush said isn't true, but it is definitely not the least bit relevant to ANYTHING... and is a piss poor segway to his previous conversation, but he was just looking for the shock value.

Now, he also gave Steinbrenner credit for being a true, perfect example of a capitalist when talking about him, which obviously no one can argue with. Was that good for MLB as a whole? we all have our opinions there.

Clearly satirical, but goes to show how much the media will take ANYTHING out of context for a headline. It's pathetic.

I am about as far away from being a Steinbrenner fan or a Yankee fan as anyone could be, but the guy used the rules available to him to create the greatest baseball power in the 37 years that he owned them. He was extremely demanding and driven, but what leader of a successful company isn't? The Yanks won 7 World Series under his leadership. The Cardinals and A's are the only other MLB franchises to have more than 7 titles in their entire history. Congrats to George on a great career. RIP.
