That's alot of money for Eric Snow 2.0. Houston supposedly might match, which I hope they do. The guy is a good defender, and that is about all. $6 million a year for a guy that averages 9 and 4 is just too steep.

Lowry is a solid player. I don't like the 4 year offer though.

My guess would be to dispel the theory that Gilbert's letter would scare off every "big" free agent.

The first year is the MLE, the contract is backloaded.

I'd do this in a heartbeat for a 1 or 2 year deal. We're not contenders yet and won;t be for another 2 or 3 years.

The money would be coming off the books then.

that's why I don't like the 4 year deal, but don't mind the money.

He's a solid player that I think you guys are underrating a tad bit. Obviously Houston thinks so as well, which is why they plan to match... So it doesn't matter anyway.

Also, if this signing were to go down, I'm guessing Mo is going to be traded.

But it doesn't look like that's the case.

Once again, consider that Darko got $20 million. The NBA just throws money around.

There have been few contracts this year where I haven't said "they are giving that guy THAT much?"

You guys must know by now how it works. It's whatever the market will bear. Millions mean nothing. The new word is soon to be billions. It's all like water.

I think this would be a GREAT move for the Cavs! I really like Lowry and think he's young and has some promise. I don't think he's ever going to be an All Star, but that's not what the Cavs necessarily need. Get some young guys to build a foundation with.

I think he's a much better player than Boobie, and Boobie is getting paid about $4.5 next year.

Not sure where they got it from but the guys on RCF say the 4th year is a team option.

Hey in four years Lebron might be a free agent. They are trying to get cap space for that year.

I've already ordered his jersey off of nba.com

I'm sure Gilbert will get his fat head kicking soon.......that'll be on my son's wall.......right beside his fathead of Buddy Biancalana

It would've been a nice signing but at the same time it almost feels like a move made just to make a move. Better to save that money and use it elsewhere for building the future.
