Just watched this movie for the first time. Shit is messed up! I know this particular movie was fictitious, but how likely is something like this? (Ending not included... ending was far fetched).
Anyone ever had some "paranormal" stuff happen to them?

I don't think many people made it to the ending anyway. I havent seen it yet because of the horrible reviews it got.

I could not stand it. The Fourth Kind was much better, but still not great.

I was extremely disappointed with it, but I didn't "hate it." Won't ever watch it again.
The chick did have a nice rack though. She's kind of hot in a "homely, girl next door" kind of way.
"The Fourth Kind" scared the shit out of me. Mostly because I thought that was actual video (I took the bait yes). You're right, a much better movie.
As for ETB's question about any personal paranormal activity/experiences; the answer is no, not for me. I don't believe in "ghosts" anyway. Anything mistaken for a paranormal experience can be completely explained (naturally).

Horror movie should do one of two things: make me scared, or show some tits. This movie did neither ... sucked!

You say you liked it after saying you either hate it or love it?

Fair point, what got me is that although all movies involve some sort of "leave your brain at the counter" element, this one was just too much. All this crap happens and they still sleep in the same bed every night? I've pulled back to back all nighters with just coffee, and there are some nights I still can't sleep. Why don't they invite a friend to crash in a sleeping bag? And the guy playing the expert was just a godawful actor.

Was excited to see it, but very disappointed afterwards. I thought the 'alternate ending' was more messed up then anything in the actual movie.

When I seen it in theater the whole theater wad yelling and jumping and screaming. There was even a couple of grown men that walked out because they couldn't take it anymore.

It was a decent horror flick -- if only because it was a bit different.
And I find that those films that don't show too much, but leave more to your imagination seem to be a bit scarier than the typical blood and gore fests that are made today.
The original movie, The Haunting, doesn't show the viewer squat but it's one of the scariest movies I ever saw.
As for people encountering demons or ghosts -- there are all kinds of reports out there. Some seem credible while most do not. There are cases that simply cannot be explained by today's science, and those are the ones that typically are the most interesting.
If anyone is interested, there are lots of books out there that document these types of alleged hauntings.

Who was that one guy on the old Huddle who used to always write about his kids getting roughed up by ghosts?

Heard a bunch of people say this was soooooo scary. I wasn't scared at all. Then these same fucktards try to say that it was so scary because it is all based on real events. One, that doesn't make the movie any scarier. Two, it is very loosely based on real events, so not really. I've had paranormal encounters....this was just gay.

I thought it was a good movie. It was definitely different and you need an open imagination in order to think it's scary.
However, I remember someone coming on here and talking about Trick R' Treat being a great horror movie. Just netflixed it and watched it the other day.....absolutely terrible. It wasn't scary at all, the acting was terrible, the effects were worse, and the storyline was all over the place. One of the bigger horror movie disappointments I've seen because it's gotten a lot of positive reviews.

the movie sucked and yes i have had an experience with paranormal shit. Trust me I was always a guy saying it all can be explained by another reason until it happened to me. I was working at a bar in my hometown and about 1030ish or so i looked up and a guy was walking in with a rimmed hat and a flannel shirt on. I got out of my chair and went to wait on him and when i turned back around he was gone. I never heard the door open or close. I only had my back turned for about 2 seconds. I saw this guy plain as day and it spooked me. I looked in the restrooms and back room to make sure that the dude was just not hiding but found nothing no where. so now i am a beleiver.

I am a firm believer myself in the paranormal, actually would love to do some ghost hunting sometime. However this movie is terrible my view won't change on that!!

Paranormal Activity was horrible. It completely frustrated me how the "expert" says, "Whatever you do, do NOT do #1, #2, #3" and the dude proceeds to do every single thing he was told NOT to do. I mean, Duh! Like another poster, why didn't you just invite some people to stay over, have a party, whatever, instead of sleeping in the same bed every night expecting a different outcome. I don't even like "horror" movies, but this one didn't get me worked up at all.

I saw this movie and was hohum about it. Just watched a spinoff of it called Paranormal Entity that was a little better, but not much (the ending sucked)
