Well, I got home from my nieces softball game last night, about 8pm. Walk in the house, and it's about 85 degrees. I thought to myself, damn the central air went out. So I check the filter, it was fine. Look out the backdoor to see if the unit was running. It wasn't, why wasn't it, because the whole fucking unit was gone!! They took the unit that was hooked up, and the old unit that didn't work. Come to find out, the neighbor saw the bastards there, but just assumed I was having some work done, which is probably what anyone would think @ 10 in the morning. I know what the van looked like, so when I get home tonight, it's time to go hunting. My bro-in-law has the AR-15 locked and loaded!! Should be an interesting evening!

For your sake I hope they hook the non working one up first and just as they realize it doesn't work you spring down upon them and unleash a fury on them like only Bruce Lee could do. Then drag their asses back to your place with the units and make them hook it back up.

Well, the stupid mother fuckers were back cruising our road today. They have a scout truck, and then the van. My bro-in-law chased down the van and got the plate #. I know where to look now! These fuckers will learn that I don't like to sweat!!

Copper is especially valuable. I worked HVAC a couple summers ago and we'd always ask for the old units to "properly" dispose of them. We'd just scrap them and get some extra money.

It's pretty common down here. Thing of it is, my house isn't an easy target, and the house 50 yards away from me is a vacant bank owned house with a brand new $3000 central air unit, with much easier access.

The cops have been informed, but I don't expect much from them. I called last night @ 8:30pm and the deputy showed up @ 11:30pm. They had like 2 deputies on duty for the entire county. These guys are just low level scrappers, so I doubt they put much effort into it. Hell, there's a guy a couple miles away that has a hillbilly compound that he's been sellin' drugs out of for years, and nothin' has ever been done to him.

Yea, the unit has been dismantled by now I'm sure. It's really not about the unit or the money it will take to replace it. It's about the fact that some mother fuckers I already support by having a career are stealing my shit!!

I know what area, and after living around here for 27 years, it's pretty easy to know where to look. I'm not going to do anything to go to jail. Most likely I will know them, and will just talk with them. They aren't violent people, just welfare trash.

This a/c theft has been going on for several years now here in FL. People actually are having alarm systems installed to protect their ac unit. The people that are caught are usually teens or lower twenties. We don't have any trouble where I live because they fear us Rednecks, or at least that's what they think we are. In Florida if someone is trespassing and you don't like it you can the fill em with buckshot.
